I played the other day with Poland. The proposal focus tree is fine. There could be more events, though. For instance, for historical consistency, should have scripted a change Ignacy Mościcki from to Władysław Raczkiewicz when you go to war against germany.
But the real problem is that no war ever ended in a way that made sense.
First war, Poland beat Nazi Germany. Really beat it, marching in Berlin and almost the whole country.
Benefits for Poland? None, Nazi Germany submitted in regard of a war with another faction, started after, and Democratic Germany appear with the exact frontiers of the previous Nazi Germany. Poland was not invited to a peace conference. Benefits for this other faction? Not much, Democratic Germany is independant and still dangerous.
So, to be clear, Poland managed to beat enemy #1 but it implied no real benefit, not a single factory or resource won.
Second war, enemy #2, USSR. Poland beat USSR. Not alone, since this time 3 major entities are against (2 democratic factions, Allies and Międzymorze, and Japan alone). But still, Poland is instrumental, conquering most of the territory, marching in Moscow.
Benefits for Poland? This time Poland was invited to negociate. Poland and Germany (now part of Międzymorze) got Russia to be a puppet and Belarus + Ukraine liberated. Cool, no? Well, not that much. Belarus and Ukraine as liberated as Communist, so hate the liberators due to ideology. And Russia is not a puppet of anything, it just a massive country almost with the previous frontier of USSR, as aggressive, and hating Poland for taking 2 lands from her.
On what planet, after a war that killed millions and was on for 4 years, the winner would let the looser to reappear with a new name, as massive army, all his resources, no war penalties, no territory partitions, etc?
One year later, Russia is justifying against Poland and attacking countries guaranteed by Poland.
To sum up: beat Germany and Russia as independant faction... But Germany and Russia are as strong as before and no advantage to limit their dangerosity as been taken.
The you get the final score, Poland is lower in score than Sweden that did nothing but getting a beating for UK for not being democratic enough, apparently (while it had a democratic governement nonetheless). Probably due to shitty air force - but I do not know how to beat Germany and then USSR with Poland and building plane at the same time when it is hard enough to produce enough small guns and artillery.
To be honest, I am not that much interest in the next DLC at this point. Not that it makes the game completely interesting - actually, it was surely more challenging this way than if Poland took a massive amount of Germany (or just a little, like Silesia for instance, that would not be so shocking for us today) after beating it. But it makes the whole story inconsistent.
