I would love a WW 1 DLC and could never get my head around why they never did one. As for Steam I was wondering would they be doing a physical copy, as I love the new game feeling in my hand and the smell. I know it's sort of pointless these day's as you install the game and the dvd is never used again, but I'm old school and like to have the physical copy.
Judging by HOI3, that would "very quickly" as in "five years". HOI2 wasn't that different.
An HOI WW1 mod is a massive, massive undertaking. I'd much rather Paradox came out with a decent, professionally-written DLC covering ti to be frank - with that a mod would be un-necessary.

And that mod, as far as I can see, is just covering basic WW1. DH WW1 is now kind of fleshed out, but that took even longer ...
Indeed. Would be close to a new game. They could even use it to come up with a good idea for a proper railroad mechanic for example.

If hearts of iron takes the same path as the other paradoxian titles it'll have significant steps in modder friendliness making it easier on modders
HOI3 was harder to mod than HOI2 by a long chalk, so we'll have to wait and see.

To be honest, I wish for a WW1 DLC. That war is something like far more than the second one. And they pulled it off nicely in Darkest Hour.

The worst one are them stug gangs riding in when you least expect it, writing everywhere "Stug is life" and other darnable devilry. Pestering folk and womanfolk alike. Damn them and their eyes!
