The reason why I have all the specs (and optimized spec for hoi4)but my computer can't run other games because IDK but I know it isn't specs.

Yes. If you could barely run HoI III or EUIV tho, you might need to turn down the graphical settings in order to play it. Or if it is CPU related you will run in the same problems again.

They use a newer version of the engine rather than a modified version. See Had a Dad's comment below.

that would likely mean you have an issue with your OS, if it isn't something like missing Dx9 10 11 or a C++ redist

They use the same engine as EU4 and It is modified, yes.

wrong CK2 uses one version, EU4 another and HOI4 is even a newer version than that

Allright. I think i mixed things up then. Wasnt it Clausewitz 4 instead of 3 which EUIV uses, or was that wrong too? Now that you mention it, i think i recall podcat mentioning it like 2ish years ago.

4.5? I think for hoi4 and 3.5 for EU4. Been so long ago since I saw the post by podcat I forget which is what version, just that they are all different versions

Theres always mods that help performance for computers that wont run it smoothly. eu4 for example, has a mod that turns off the detailed water, and replaces it with just generic blue. its completely playable, and not a big deal, but it definitely speeds up the framerate if your computer isnt up to snuff.

well it isn't because your hardware is sub spec. So either it is OS related or you have a piece of hardware failing.

If you can run EU4 as a download from Steam then it's unlikely that any OS/software/virus issue will prevent HOI4 running.

You can try the game from Steam for two hours, and get a refund if it's not working for you. Or get someone to help you do a health check on your PC, scan for viruses/malware etc.
