Hey all,

I am trying to determine what country I want to play as once the game comes out but I am running into two problems. First is tech trees for just about every nation which I doubt will be online until after the games release. (Anyone know if turkey has been released yet? They are who I want to play day one i think.)

THe second, is resource maps. I cant find any maps save a very few screenshots from the WWW streams. Are there any maps out there yet? And if so are there any resource maps? I cant find anything for the middle east or south america.

Here is hoping a dev sees this and posts the entire world resource maps :)

You could probably look at HOI 3 for the resources. They will probably be similar in IV.

Only the major powers currently have their own tech tree. IE USA, UK, USSR, Japan, Italy, Germany. The rest of the world shares a tech tree that is located somewhere around here.

I tried looking at a HOI 3 map for resource estimates and it doesnt really work very well... Might give an idea of where some oil is but nothing about how much... Also the types of resources are different between the two.

I guess that resources (distribution on the map as well as their amounts) may still be a subject to balance changes. Therefore, I don't really expect a resource map before release.

Are they really changing a lot of the resource numbers this close to release? I know they are going to balance things still but i doubt the maps would change more than a few percent... A country isnt going to go from 100 oil to 10 oil...

First is tech trees for just about every nation
I have to mention that the tech trees as far as "what you can research" looks the same for everyone. (Including majors; only names are different.)

They also don't seem to have put in a lot of effort to different minors' starting tech (seeing as CS completely lacked tanks), so for example, what Hungary started with tech-wise is probably a good guess of what all (landlocked?) European minors will start with. And even that is not much, so I don't think there's much difference, if any, between what they start with and what rest-of-the-world minors start with.

Yeah, it looks like minors are present by just name, other things are like copy paste + add some more or bit less menpower, divizions etc, in HOI3 dlcs they also tweaked minors, so I think that they r heading to D-Day with finished majors and minors like meat for them then they will release patches/dlcs where they will tweak as many as possible minor nations
