When on mission my ship goes to repair in harbors that is explicitly set to 'Never repair' then just standing there forever, not repairing until i move them or change the repair status for that harbor.
At the moment, NL has marines 1 researched but no template for them, like USA had before the fix. They added the Marine Brigade in today's update to the 1.6.2 beta (but not mentioned in the patch notes).

It still does it but less and randomly it seems. it might have something to do with the fronts in Asia shifting when China falls and the Allies start to wage war there. But it's unclear. How's the soviet AI doing in the current patch (1.6.2)? It seems that when I am playing, it does the front shuffling thing still, but only for the first few months of the war. Then it stalls the Germans before Moscow.
Yeah, I hope they fix this as it has been happening since 1.3 at least, probably since the game's release. It still does it but less and randomly it seems. it might have something to do with the fronts in Asia shifting when China falls and the Allies start to wage war there. But it's unclear.

They explicitly changed the German AI to be better in 1.6It's nowhere near as bad for the German AI. Most of their units seem to hold position. 70% of their army actually just seems to stay in western Europe during the war. Kind of makes the state of the Soviet Union seem even more pathetic.

That is because the Germans don't have a massive land border with 2 powers. So it is easier to fix their AI. It is not that easy to code an AI. Proof? Just look at what happens when you open up a second front with Germany, and it gains traction. Most of the time you can literally walk around their divisions.Which means they should easily be able to do the same for the Soviet Union. The template already exists and Germany is proof of that. I just don't understand what is difficult about not having them constantly move half of their army around. I mean how hard is it to code the AI NOT to keep taking guys off the front line to go and garrison random places in Russia? It serves absolutely no purpose.
To fix Japan rolling over China you should make Japan and China more similar in land strength, not just tell the Japanese AI to take it easier on them.
If there were any reason to WANT a WW1 trench warfare style front to take place in HOI4, its China. And then you don't have any semblance of a Pacific War besides ships sinking ships because Japan does not have the strength to even invade the Dutch East Indies.
It is good for Japan to be stronger in land, for me the best balance would be for China to be able to hold at least 40% of its land into 1942, but still giving Japan enough of an advantage to send troops elsewhere.
Hey @Bratyn and @Andy Gainey (plus others) you are doing a great work, but please just add Carpathian Ruthenia to the "reaffirm territorial claims" I also created a bug report since in the 1939 start Hungary have it as a core territory: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...s-only-core-state-to-hungary-in-1939.1163489/- Further adjusted cores granted in Hungarian focus tree (for Vojvodina and West Banat).
