I have made a bug report for the Army reshuffling in 1.6.1 myself. It desperately needs fixing. Or at the very least a heads up from the devs that they are working on it.

It's definitely a serious problem. You can tag to US, USSR or UK in any 1.6.2 game and see huge numbers of troops with railroad indicator active shuffling along the front pointlessly. They need to check their math for the unit controller because at least one of the weights in allocation between fronts is clearly bonkers.

A minor problem is that the "Reach Out to the Ware Group" National Focus breaks the USA Focus tree if you're Communist. Since you need to be Democratic to complete it, if you go Democratic Socialism first you get into a situation where you cannot contact Communists in your government... if you're Communist.
Easy fix would be to either have it bypass (and possibly lose the advisors) or allow Communist government as well as Democratic to get it.

To us, here, the biggest problem that needs to be looked at is that even with abundance of fuel, the Soviet and the RAF dosent fly. The Ai simply just overstackes its airports and sit there

They need to check their math for the unit controller because at least one of the weights in allocation between fronts is clearly bonkers.

Really hope they address both this and the overall lack of balance.

Also France gets overrun by Italy/Germany as France deciding to have most troops defending Netherlands/Belgium and only assign a few men at Italy border which are moving from and to the front line all the time.

Seems the UK is not adding much troops anymore to help defend France and BeNeLux.

I'm pretty sure there's an AI strategy that prevents any allied units going to France until after Jan 1 41.

reading between the lines of various dev responses I get the idea that at some point the devs did let people know what they were patching but people were jerks to the developers about it, so they stopped doing it.

Yeah the shuffling of troops and the endless building of new troops does drag the game down quite a bit. The first issue ruins the earlier game and the second pretty much grind the end game to a halt both due to lag and secondly due to stopping all war progress.

Given the difficulty of writing an adequate AI, I am ready to accept the fact that after any patch you need about a month to make the game playable. We must pay tribute to the developers - they hold feedback. For example, in "Civilization 6" AI was an idiot:( when the game came out in release, so it remains, and the years go by;).

I wonder what they changed, because the shuffling is definitely worse now. I tried to let the battle plans do the work last night in my USA war against Mexico...and saw my units repeatedly advance one province, then strategically redeploy to the other end of the frontline order. Utterly atrocious.

The only problem with that is the game came out 2016 so unless they get more AI programmers to give the problem a new angle of looking at it, I don't think much will change. I don't mean to be rude when I say that, mind you, just that fresh eyes often look at things from other perspectives.

Another problem. Testing the Netherlands to determine the optimal development strategy in the period before the outbreak of the war, I noticed that in the last more than 20 games:cool: from 1936 to 1939 - Republican Spain never won a civil war. Although before this happened somewhere in the 20%. China flies into history by the end of 1939 with a 90% probability.

As the frontline shuffling is especially damaging on larger fronts, I'd think that the situation in China should also improve if that's fixed.
Just a thought though, I could be wrong.

I wonder what they changed, because the shuffling is definitely worse now. I tried to let the battle plans do the work last night in my USA war against Mexico...and saw my units repeatedly advance one province, then strategically redeploy to the other end of the frontline order. Utterly atrocious.

wat - you are saying that you observe shuffling even with your own troops, when you are not in observe mode? That's the first! Can you file a bugreport?

Another problem. Testing the Netherlands to determine the optimal development strategy in the period before the outbreak of the war, I noticed that in the last more than 20 games:cool: from 1936 to 1939 - Republican Spain never won a civil war. Although before this happened somewhere in the 20%. China flies into history by the end of 1939 with a 90% probability.

In my game Spanish Civil War is still being fought in 1942. no win in sight. Nazi Spain holds about 80% of peninsula.

- US New Orleans class CA should be Astoria class; wasn't renamed until the USS Astoria was sunk in 1942.
- Canadian Sanguenay class (typo) DD should be River class, or at least Saguenay class if you want the sub-class with the correct spelling.

You're correct. If the Astoria was never sunk, the class would've probably remained the "Astoria-class".

Contemporary names in respect to the scenario dates should be used in general, IMO. It'd be silly to call the Deutschland-class pocket battleship the Lützow-class, even though the lead ship was renamed to Lützow in 1940. Similarly, it'd also be silly to call Burma "Myanmar", because it was known as Burma at the time (heck, often still is). Which is also why I believe Ethiopia and Iran should be renamed to Abyssinia and Persia respectively, which is what they were known as internationally well into the Cold War.
