The 1.9.1 patch contained a lot of bug fixes, but it seems that there are always a few that would be easy to fix but sneaked by our notice, so we're working on a smaller 1.9.2 patch that will focus on this.

We're also very aware of the ugly out-of-syncs that are occurring, and we are working hard to hunt those down, but these buggers can be very cockroach-like.

As before, we're starting with an open beta on the Steam 1.9.2_beta branch for the bugs we were already able to fix, as we continue to hammer away at those nasty, evil, despicable out-of-syncs.

Why beta patch and should you download it:
We do open beta patches to make sure we get a lot of testing and catch new issues before a patch goes live.
So, if you know how to use beta patches and dare to live a little dangerously (I wouldn't attempt ironman on this build tbh in case it ruins your save), and would love to help then check this out. I am not going to promote this patch outside the forum because, well, its beta and not fully supported. If you run into problems, just roll back to default version.

Note that just because a reported issue isn't listed below doesn't mean its forgotten or that we aren't prioritizing it. Just that it hasn't gotten a fix yet. The point of the patch is to make sure the stuff we listed is ok, not necessarily fix more stuff. So questions like "Have you fixed X yet" is best answered by doing a search through the patchlog below, or test yourself. More fixes than whats below will keep coming in future updates.

So to make stuff super clear:
This is BETA. meaning we haven't even QA tested all the things ourselves.
Its here so we get help with that and can release a real patch faster and in a better shape
It could all crash and burn, if that is scary just keep playing 1.9.1 and let others help with BETA testing.

- Fixed save game formatting of AI strategies for managing production of army roles, to use text instead of unstable numeric IDs
- Enabled the abort on map error for when game files are modified in the installation directory

- Lowered operation duration for infiltrate Army/Navy/Air from 90 to 75
- Lowered boost resistance operation duration to 50 days from 60
- Lowered duration on targetted sabotage from 120 to 90 days
- sabotage operation now also increases damage done rather than just aiding in targetting
- lowered chance for agent capture and increased chance for harm and hiding to reduce the amount of rescue missions needed
- it is now possible to recruit local agents in countries occupied by a third party
- reduced cost increase for repeating tech steal operation from a target
- reduced cost increase for repeating sabotage operation on a target
- Increased weights for equipment unlocks a bit from tech stealing operation
- Carrier planes no longer suffer the range coverage penalty during coordinated strikes
- Spain will not get resistance from the states until the SCW is completely over, meaning that the second uprising has been triggered/avoided. This is also applied if a Spanish faction defeats the other Spanish tags before her second uprising happens, since the SCW will not end until the second uprising has been dealt with.
- if France backs down during the Sudeten Crisis, French guarantees on Yugoslavia will also be removed (no one believes you anymore France)
- French guarantees on Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia are now cancelled if France goes with Britain

So how do I get this?
1. In steam right click the game in the list of games and pick Properties
2. Go to the Betas tab
3. in the drop-down select 1.9.2_beta (if it doesnt appear you might have to restart steam)
4. Close Properties. Steam should now queue up an update and will display the game in the list as Hearts of Iron IV [1.9.2_beta]
5. if all went well the last bit of the version number in launcher should match the one mentioned in this thread title - which should be the correct checksum.
6. Once we go official you can just remove the beta branch and go back to main by doing this again and selecting NONE.

If this seems even a little bit complicated just skip it and wait for patch to become official.

Other notes:
- Should be savegame compatible with 1.9.x

Well, no more balance? I'm more interesting in the balance, such as the balance between capital ships and screen ships, that is exciting.(And I can't understand all of the Bugfix and stability's meaning, although they may truly help me a lot
 
There will come more, but not so much like in 1.9.1 which was a very big Side-Patch. 1.9.1 you can tell the new Main-Patch, because he is so big like a normal Main-Patch.

And the Devs are working already on the next Main-Patch and DLC. If you ask me we will get patch 2.0 and the new DLC End this year / Beginning next year.

I think a small tab should be attached when we put the class name that we want with the historical names of the famous classes of that type, for example, the name of a German submarine, a small tab should appear where historical classes were written according to the country such as Type II, Type VII, Type XIX etc ... that later this could be modified to put the different variants like A, B, C etc ... This is the same for the different ship types in the game
 
I believe for Germany the collaborative government such as the protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and the Polish General Government with its historical borders as well as other historical collaborative governments such as French Indochina, French North Africa, Empire Vietnam etc ... should join.

Looks good, sadly to late for me in my multiplayer session. Already attacked last week as Japan, without using Prepared Strike. Oh well.
Curious how it will work out in the future now, though.
 
Can't launch the game with the beta now:

An error occured while updating HoI IV (missing executable):

...../Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Hearts of Iron IV/dowser

Reverting to non-beta fixes it, but selecting beta again triggers the issue again.

I use Mac OS X.
