HOI4 for beginners?

I love CK2 and EU4, and enjoy Stellaris (but realize it needs some love).

A big part of me buying those three games, and Stellaris in pre-order was to watch videos of play trough aimed at the beginner, showing the mechanisms of the game and explaining time what and why.

Is there such playthrough already available for HOI4? Or will there be prior to the release?

I am trying to decide whether I buy it, and whether I buy it now and special editions, or wait.

almost certainly they will release HOI IV to youtubers and streamers in the lead up to release. They also might run another multiplayer stream (less certain). these things should offer a lot of pre-release information so wait it out because it wont be long before youtube is flooded by the usual suspects of good paradox videos like quil18 and all the others

This. I would say watch more specifically the Japan playthrough as they go into a lot of fine detail about pretty much every aspect of the game of the course of that series.

Bridger15 has already made some good videos explaining the basics of the game quite clearly. He said he will make more and improve them when the game will be released.

These streams are useful and entertaining, but they don't explain very clearly, they do everything very fast and we only get the broad lines and a glimpse of the mechanics.

There are also 20 hours of them and the information is spread alllll over the place. That's why I made the series Nicolas linked to above. To help people learn the basics without spending 20 hours watching videos and 5 hours reading dev diaries/posts.

Thanks for the replies. I started watching Bridger15 videos and indeed they are probably the best for a complete beginner as he goes from high level to details, in a step by step, what do you do if you are actually playing. Nicely done!
