The only strictly MP fix that I am aware of is hot join. I got the distinct impression that this was resolved essentially while they were on vacation and is a done deal. Are you referring to some other MP fixes?

They mentioned a few MP improvements with the first DD after their vacation, but haven't elaborated on it at all since then. I hope it is a done deal and is on the way, this game sorely needs some MP quality of life improvements in a bad way.

While we're on the topic of suggestions I'd love to have some way to easily split fleets up into groups of 10, i.e. shift-right clicking splits a group of 10 ships into a new fleet. Would make setting up subs and destroyers MUCH easier.

The only two things I'm really hoping to see in the patch is the SOV not leaving the Berlin-Moscow Axis, and an ability for a faction leader to kick out a member. When Spain takes Turkey and India, and puppets Ireland and Switzerland, it gets a little annoying. Speaking of that, a better peace conference system would be nice too.

I agree that a better peace conference system is needed. It is also not merely that the current intention is flawed, but there are serious bugs that have results from multiple wars crossing over into the conference even though some of those wars have not ended (and they were never merged).

An example would be an MP game where I allowed Finland into the Axis when the Soviets invaded them in '39. I only did this because in a previous game I had passed that and they were accepted into the Allies with an even more flawed peace conference after.

If the example of Finland joining the Axis, my opponent and I had house rules prohibiting an early war between Germany and USSR. So we considered this a sham war. Neither of us fought the other (except for Finland of course and as Germany I did not join that war). Hungary, however did join the war. The Russians did not attack Hungary per our agreement and the Hungarians only lost around 10k soldiers in their border skirmishes with the Russians.

Now comes the Peace conference in which for some reason the UK was at the table presumably because they had a war with Hungary (though the two wars did not merge). I, the German player was not at the peace table. Hungary was forced out of the Axis and became a democratic state.

With the current peace system letting Finland join either faction totally breaks any attempt at a historical game. If either UK or Germany is AI controlled, Finland will join one faction or the other every time.

When you say that you're gonna fix cls, does that mean you're going to lower their evasion stat or are you going to rework the evasion formula? I can tell you right now that if all you do is lower the cl evasion stat without changing anything else, that dds will become OP again.

In replies to the previous diary they've said they're looking into doing some changes to how the current mechanics work, so it's not going to be just evasion change.

This below doesn't sound like just a small evasion stat nerf for CL to me:

General balance-wise we have been working on stuff to promote mixed fleets better and discourage light cruiser spam and lowering the impact of evasion in combat, meanwhile torpedoes have also gotten stronger. It’s going to need some more tweaking before the patch is out, but naval balance is now already much better!

I am also waiting for improvements to the peace conference system + war score. I currently find the results are often very unusual and rarely reflective of the war. I did try and mod it myself, but I quickly found that there wasn't enough scripting control.

I hope this is addressed soon as currently I lose all motivation to play after the first major peace conference.

The other thing I think is needed are changes to occupation/suppression. I find dealing with resistance a massive pain when playing as axis powers who often need to take over most of the world to actually end the war and resistance. Some sort of quell resistance order that worked like garrison but moved units to react to resistance would be very helpful.

For this patch, I know that capitulated countries can't use National Foci, but will you also be changing a faction leaders ability to add countries to the faction after they have been defeated?

There is nothing more frustrating for me, than defeating Germany as a minor nation and then turning round to deal with Italy, only to watch in horror as Germany invites Hungary, Romania, and Yugoslavia to the Axis from beyond the grave when it makes zero sense.

presumably this would be Hitler hiding out at Mussolinis, still managaging axis diplomacy in exile. Not that unplausible, although I guess it would make more sense if italy does it officially in this situation.

Whilst that would make slightly more sense, it's still fairly laughable that anyone would be willing to join the axis after Germany has capitulated. If that's something that does indeed happen, I would think that the AI logic for when to join a faction (or not) is in need of some tweaking.

When you playing as minor and having just few ports that barely enough for transports, one and only way defend own shore is 'mosquito fleet' (spam of submarine or DD).

I don't think a minor is supposed to stand much of a chance against Battleship fleets which historically took major nations decades to build up though.

You'd have to use airpower to have any chance historically.

On the subject of tidying up national foci: the UK has some diplomatic NFs that encourage acceptance of democratic diplomacy + convert to democratic even if you have changed government type. Can that be fixed to check for and then apply bonuses for Goverment type?

Equally a way to buff fascist Edward VIII would be useful. That political power penalty is painful everywhere...

Great DD, I enjoy the content of patch Sunflower so far, although there are a lots more to be fixed and improved. The improvement from a single patch is decent enough for me, really looking forward to it, keep up the good work!
