On the bright side waiting and hoping for HOI4 to be fixed/improved has motivated me to explore Victoria 2 that I picked up cheap in the steam sale.

Struggling to learn everything but enjoying the adventure so far. But at least it makes me less aggravated as I wait to see how HOI4 pans out.

Soooo...this is really funny.

The game is bogged with bugs, failing AI doing all the crazy stuff(like German transfering whole their army to Africa leaving Europe undefended, completely stupid conferences that let AI to release nations broken into 10 or more small parts-depends on the size of country and players own gains, Germany failing to invade Denmark and/or Norway ending in stalemate for years, national focuses that leads to dead end or bugs out when player-or the crazy AI did something "wrong" in between the focuses...).

But Paradox decides that the best thing to do is to add a freaking releasable Ukraine and Malaya!!!!! And other pointless releasable nations that have zero point in the timeline of the game. Stuff, that only boggs down the game even more. Not like it´s not getting slow enuf with the states already in game because the crazy AI keeps bulding new divisions/aiplanes and spamming em without need in the numbers that the engine is utterly uncapable of managing. 100k UK+US planes alive at once anyone? Or several hundred divisions from Jugoslavia someone? (All with 1 or 2 inf brigades). England having that many resources at home that they basically don´t even need any convoys? Pointless submarines someone? Bugged indestructible ships.

But yea, let add some worthless releasable states please!!! And don´t forget of freaking Manchukuo for those fanatics spamming this thread!!!

If u actually want to add some states, than give the nations ability to rebuild Austria-Hungary, big Scandinavia or something. Stuff, that needs at least some player input by getting several states at once, not just rip something from big old Soviet Union...

Talk about having zero point in the timeline of the game. Theres no way Austria Hungary could ever exist. And big Scandinavia feels more like EU 4 or something.

As has been indicated multiple times, not everyone on the team is going to be an AI coder, so there is no reason they can't continue to create content while AI is fixed.

Playing as Japan now I can use it's coastline to build dockyards, I can build a new air base close to the China border and I can develop its infrastructure. I use its manpower, and the troops I recruit automatically use my research and my equipment. I use its resources in my factories, and I can build more factories there, if I want.
Couldn't this be fixed by allowing countries to build things in puppeted countries? You can already take control of their troops, which lets you more or less use that land's manpower fully, unlike the current situation. (Also would be nice to be able to build non-slot buildings in allied countries, like infrastructure.)

They are in and appear as possible if the situation in europe is mostly historical and after accepting it in events around the yalta conference
That doesn't stop the AI from also puppeting Germany, so you end up with East Germany, West Germany, and the German Republic (a puppet of the UK in one of my USA games), for example.

Peace conferences really need to actually be conferences, and allow countries to object to what other countries want to take. (Maybe by spending points to do so?)

I posted this in suggestions but to get everyone to stop arguing about Crimea and Manchukuo I will repost it here. A new controversy to argue over!

Commies should get the option to release the "Black Belt Republic" in the southern United States. This was a serious proposal embraced by Stalin and the Comintern in the 30s and early 40s.

There's two things that paradox needs to update for me on hearts of iron 4, one urgently the other not so urgently, the first one is the prime minister of Britain in 1936. At the start of the game it says that Chamberlain is prime minister or leader of Britain in 1936 but this is not true. Its Stanley Baldwin (1935-1937). so can we please update this so it changes to Chamberlain in 1937 and at the start of the game we get Stanley Baldwin in 1936. Hopefully I'm not the only one who cares. Also can we add Tunisia as a foreign claimant on its lands. If Libya has that so does Tunisia :) . Hopefully somebody will see this

Crimea was actually the first attempt at a Muslim Secular Republic in the two months it held independence in 1917/18 before being beaten by the Bolsheviks, so there is definitely precedent for a Crimean nation. I think at this time the population was more Tatar then Russian or Ukrainian.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_People's_Republic

I know that they are tatars, but I mean a secondary culture. When I have telled "their own cultur", it's was about tatars.

sorry for my expression

Sure-if they want to add content, then they can start with adding leaders, ministers and stuff like that so we don´t have whole South America lead by the same picture. That´s useful content. Or actual pictures and names of equipment, stuff that has basically been there since HoI 1.

More ways to split up the blobs and give them the good ol' Austro-hungarian death is excellent. Now hopefully there will be more tags so we can reduce them even further in the event of a grand victory. I might not want all their territory, but that doesn't mean I'll let them keep a ton either that they can use to rebuild on.

The devs already stated the reasons for not including Manchukuo in the old thread you necroed...

It's mainly because they think that when playing as Japan you want to be able to improve the infrastructure, airbases and forts in this area ( as was done historically ). If Manchukuo is present you can't do that. Another reason is because Manchukuo's army was very bad compared to Japans, and you had no control over it either.

If you want to spam post about Manchukuo I think ( as written by mods in the other thread ) that it's better you do it in a new thread of your own creation instead of inside the Dev Diary thread, which people might want to read for discussions about what's actually being added, instead of read through 20+ lengthy posts about how you want Manchukuo in the game.

Instead of making new countries, why don't you add new focus tree for minor nations as it is too generic making minor nations useless in the game. I find it boring how countries have the same focus tree and generic models it would be wise to work on this for a future update. This is because i have been playing the game for a while and have categorised nations into to 4 groups. Number 1: Global Powers, this included imperial countries like, USA, Russia, UK, France. Most of these countries have had an imperial empires before 1936 and have a massive influence over the world. Number 2: Major powers. This included, Germany, Italy, Japan. This list is small however i am judging this by how powerful the nations start off in 1936.Number 3: Aspiring nations. These nations can become quite powerful in their areas on the map and have the potential to become dominant powers. These countries include all the current minor nations like, Turkey, Spain, China, PRC, Brazil, Romanina, Sweden, Canada, British Raj, Australia, Venezuela, Mexico. These nations have the capacity to start a war and win it without assistance from other nations. Finally Number 4: Minor nations. These nations have a minimal effect on the game and countries commonly invaded for more land and resources. Countries include: Nepal, Chile, Oman, Tibet, Yemen, ETC. Overall these nations are extremely easy to invade and utterly useless. DICLAIMER, this can obviously be changed and these group are just an observation of mine by playing it.
