@ HoI IV Team have fun in your vacation!

Thanks for the great game! The game has some issues but over all none of them kills the fun in playing it. As in HoI III the effort of the paradox development Team in patching it and create new DLCs will make HoI IV the best WW II Grand strategy game till now. I am sure of that. See you in August.....

I hate to be negative in a podcat post because he is a nice guy, however, 30% of games are played as minors, IMO, points not only to the minors being fun but also to the majors representing little to zero challenge for anyone familiar with the basic concepts of WWII and the game.

Thanks to pocat and Hoi4 team for you efforts getting the patch out. Much appreciated.

Enjoy your RnR and comeback refreshed and creative for the war effort; very much looking forward to
AI and balance will be priority but we also have some nice ideas for increasing difficulty and replayability and such for players who have already mastered the game.

I am really, really disappointed with the state of the game right now... apparently this patch is even worse than the previous version of the game due to German AI shenanigans of abandoning frontlines and the like, which was NOT fixed with the patch's transition from beta to official.

I'm basically forced to shelf this game for a month or two until you guys release a proper patch, which is frankly disappointing. I had a lot of fun with the game and already put over 100 hours into it, I had high hopes for the next patch to make the game much more fun to play, but with it introducing so many new AI issues - just not worth it...

You guys should not have planned the release date in a way that would be so close to your summer vacation that effectively makes the game abandoned for a month due to no development work (which it desperately needs).

Just my two cents, no offense intended, the game is still lovely.

You can still play the previous version (previous 2 actually). Just go into BETA options for the game and choose the older version.

The problem is that they're also getting annoying to play. I stopped playing for 2 weeks in hopes for this patch to fix some of the major issues, instead it brought in even worse problems.

I can understand that. MP is the best option if you can find an opponent of similar mind set, one who will agree to reasonable restrictions instead of abusing the many loopholes that exist in the game.

I played Italy from the tutorial to 1948 and I really enjoyed it, despite the AI issues, but in saying that, they added some interesting challenges! After the patch came out the other day I decided to play a minor nation so I could observe how the AI played now, so I chose New Zealand! I am now at December 1947 and here some observations:

1) Naval Fleets of 1 Ship. Both France and Britain had stacks of 1 ship fleets sitting in one sea area. France had 58 in the Mediterranean and Britain had 167 in a port in England.
2) Italy was invaded almost immediately after Germany went into France and Rome fell, before the Germans came to the rescue and kicked out the British and French.
3) Japan got smashed in mainland China and was kicked out quite quickly. It spent the rest of the time trying to do naval invasions to get back into China and failed miserably. Japan's only substantial gain in the whole game was taking Borneo.
4) Somehow (didn't notice when or how) the Allies ended up in a war with Russia (Russia and Germany never went to war). At the moment they are fighting on the Indian (British Raj) border with Iran (Russia having declared war on Iran and conquered it).
5) Germany was also naval invaded by the Allies and spent many years just repelling the invasions. Eventually the Allies gain a foothold and are currently pushing the rest of the Germans eastward. I imagine once they take a German sector on the Russian border they will start fighting the Russians too. The US is already fighting the Russian up around Murmansk as the Norwegians are in the Allies and Finland fell to the Russians.
6) Italy in the meantime has been left alone by the Allies, but is doing nothing to help Germany because it is vastly out numbered so is just defending its borders! Yet for some reason it saw fit to invade China and has a number of provinces in the state of Shandong and is holding off the Chinese (why Japan just doesn't land troops there instead of trying to invade and fail in other provinces I don't know)!
7) No wars have been declared in any of the the South American Countries by Germany (so this has problem been fixed)!

So, some interesting things happening in this game. Being New Zealand, there really wasn't much to do, other than research and building a few things until I got ICBMs and started strategic bombing Japan's home islands! I would like some way to tell how effective your strategic bombing is as at the moment I see my missiles fly off, but other than that I can't tell what damage they are doing.

Next I may try out either Russia for a ground war or the USA for a Naval war!

I hope you guys have a wonderful vacation. I know the feeling of getting time off from a ton of work getting done. That feeling of sleeping on your bed and just *CLICK* out like all the lights.

When I win the lottery I'm going to buy your company make you move to America and work for less money and not get time off. Damn socialists!

Just kidding. If I won the lottery I'd move to Sweden.
