what? They announce the release date a few days before the actual release. If this is the graphics, music, achievement post than a release in January doesn't sound too unlikely to me.

A few days? Where do you get that from?

WTT: announced in November, release in March
Even the small country packs were announced at least 1 and a half month before the release. January would be a real surprise for release. Give me a valid reason why they would not have announced the date yet, even tho they know they can and will release in January.

Don't get me wrong, I would be really happy for a release in January. But IMO it seems like a very wrong expectation, which might lead you to a big disappointment. But let's hope you are right :p

Waking the Tiger was announced in November, but it's realease day was made public no more than a few weeks before it came out.

If early next year's means the first 20 days of January I suppose we might get Man the Guns in February.

Iirc, WtT was announced in November and DoD a couple of months before release, but not their launch date.
I don't remember when their dates were revealed, but MtG itself was announced way back at PDXCON already.

Pretty sure he means that when the actual release date is announced, not the DLC itself. Anyways, the waiting time between the release date announcement and the release is usually of 2 weeks, roughly speaking.

Does anyone know when the Dev's get back from holidays? Is it 2nd week of January, or later?

Shouldn't be past the second week, but as he said to "expect diaries to resume again when we get back after new years", I suppose it could mean anywhere from 02/01 to the heat death of the universe, but I'm hoping for the former.

Hilarious!

2nd week of January is a good guess for a new DD.

That would work, although how this could be applied to the Soviets, who utilised Finnish techniques and ski troops during the war with Germany, is part of the reason I feel Ski troops would be a better solution.

Well then all Finnish infantry types should be ski troops, which would look silly.

You could always have both: specialised ski unit types for nations that weren't fully climatised to winter conditions and national modifiers to the few that were.

That would work, although it would probably just be the Scandinavian countries that would have the modifiers in HOI4.

The question is will germany and japan have to watch their fuel consumption now or will (at least germany) they still be swimming in an abundance of oil and fuel. I hope the DD will answer this question tomorrow.
