I don't think there can be any reasonable doubt that this is exactly what we're going to get with the Baltic tree.

I would be very surprised to not get Finland in this one. Improvements to defensive war would go well with them also.

I kinda hoping all three Baltic States get a unique tree rather than shared ones. Maybe they can have a shared military trees, but I hope they get unique political and economic trees

This might be the route they go. Political trees are ones that people pay the most attention to. Have each Baltic nation have a unique political branch, but a shared navy, aerial, army, industry, and research branch.

I think Finnland will come to give the Soviets a war they can learn how to wage again from, in order to fix the damage from the great purge, creating a race for time where the Soviets must try to fix their army before the Germans come

Depends a bit on the size of the trees. Three small trees should not be an issue. Or maybe a new and improved generic tree, with room for some flavour?

There are many other things this could be though. It could be a teaser for the anniversary patch (those usually contains a few new portraits, right?), a rework of politics (giving communists something akin to governments in exile maybe?) or perhaps we'll finally find out what exactly the hat-button does (we mostly know it's doctrines)?

That said, Baltic/Estonian focuses sounds the most likely to me. It would also fit the theme since those countries have strong historical ties to the other countries we expect this DLC to cover.

actually, the chinese trees, while sometimes boring, are the most historically plausible trees, with the least amount of meme stuff

This, Gabriel spread the respective ideologies according to the one who most appropriate

Fascist + Monarchists (if Obedience path is taken after Japan accepts the Kodo-ha) for Qing
Communists for PRC
And Non-Aligned + Democratic for ROC

Warlords can go to those latter 3 ideologies while staying independent. Sadly you can't go fascist without subjecting yourself to Japan, unless you have a demagogue.

I concur the Baltics would have similar development.

Nonaligned Historical branch for all, along with Baltic Unity, and armed forces + indusstrial branches.

Communist and Democratic alt for Estonia

Fascist and Communist alt for Latvia

Fascist and Monarchist alt for Lithuania

yeah, just saying. sort of "in spite of being some of the most boring and least appreciated trees in the game". there are 2 cool stuff in those trees: the inflation-balancing for the nats, and the uprisings for the commies

Most likely it will be a semi-shared tree. The majority of the tree would be the same for all 3, with a single section that is unique for each.

I agree. Most likely tech, military and factory tree is the same but each political tree might by slightly different.

Maybe the historical part of the soviet focus tree? And after that the dlc content for the tree as they did with the polish one?

And this guy as a hint for a soviet mechanic to spread communism and partisan activity in the baltics, Finnland etc.?
Maybe there are parts in the soviet tree, that will be tied to the neighbour countries?

I don't think so. He died during the Great purge and worked in the Soviet Union so I would assume we'll get a Soviet focus tree tommorow.

Ah that that makes sense having a big reveal at a main event for that tree. I’ve not heard of Jaan Anvelt and if he is tied to the Soviet Union then I would put him on the meme side rather than the historical side and I dont think this goes with the pattern of previous dev diaries of alternate before historical?

From reading up on the antics of this man (I confess Wikipedia) he probably is tied to the Soviet Focus tree and a new Estonian focus tree?

This was a trend from la resistance where the French tree ties in with the Spanish etc.
