Still kinda think that the fascist king option should just be scrapped.I would say that if Hungarian nationalists decided that they wanted a king specifically to strengthen ties with the fascist regimes in Germany, going with a German would not be the worst choice (German princes were also somewhat popular in a lot of places that ended up in need of a king). Besides, FF was not just a member of the SS, he was a member of the SS before 1933 - the guy was a true believer. It sends a very strong message to appoint him to the throne. (I also didn't want to use Edward AGAIN).
You are right that there are candidates with better connections to Hungary, but most of the ones I checked were (like many aristocrats) somewhat critical of fascism as an ideology.
