This is genuinely impressive. I was kind of leery about the alt-history paths you added for Germany and Japan in Waking the Tiger, as they seemed to not mesh very well with actual historical circumstances of those countries. The new British tree seems to be a much greater improvement, as the alt-history paths seem far more plausible in light of actual historical circumstances. Allow me to suggest a few more potential events/decisions/focuses:
  • An option to evacuate the royal family to one of the colonies if Britain has negative warscore. This will grant some political power (as the government no longer has to worry about protecting the King), but will also cause a stability hit.
  • I agree with other posters in that there should be some option for a non-democratic Britain to attack France
  • The possibility of the trade unions launching a general strike if you ignore them or pass too many restrictive laws. The player would then need to decide whether to negotiate, or to use violence to force people to return to work.
  • An option to pass the Public Order Act, as happened in real life. This would massively reduce support for both fascists and communists, but if one of these groups already has high support, it could trigger a civil war.

I may have misread but "Once the marriage is out of the way, the crisis ends. With no cabinet and political turmoil, the King can direct his most potent supporters during this crisis, David Lloyd George, Winston Churchill, and Oswald Mosley, to then form a political party that is far more… amenable… to the King’s wishes." Does that mean we can have a Triumvirate with all three of them or is it just one and one only?

Shouldn't this English focus tree stuff be retroactively attached to the Together for Victory DLC?

Fair, I do think having the 3 of them serving under the King would be pretty interesting tbh, with options for them to work together, against each other, have the King mediate on certain topics.

But I do realize it probably won't be a thing as it would require a lot of effort, that and I know the most about Mosley, some about Churchill and only Lloyd's WW1 years, so my idea of having all three work together under the king probably isn't practical.

yes, US and UK re-worked trees, and two new focus trees for minor nations (not announced yet)
I don't recall HoI IV team stating that there will be only two new focus trees beside US/UK re-worked one.

WtT which is similiar in scope had - Chinese Warlord, KMT, PRC and MAN + JAP/GER rework

Well, I like the idea of not having to constantly watch powerlessly as Germany eats more and more stuff, and Britain deserves a better focus tree.

I likey.

podcat mentioned it somewhere; i've seen it sourced since but off the top of my head i can't remember where he said it

similar in scope doesn't necessarily mean the number of focus trees, but could mean mechanics and other stuff, and we know a lot of naval stuff is being redone

i remember podcat saying that each of the new trees is for a country near to the reworked ones, i.e. US and UK, so a lot of people speculated mexico and ireland, but hopefully they do not waste time on an irish tree

Well it Looks really nice to see that they are going to expand further on the Alt History path.
Also very nice, the civil war mechanic get's more interesting. I forsee a) great use by the Mod Community and b) more and better civil wars for every Country.

Great DD @Bratyn something that is hard to put my finger on, is making me look forward to forcefully decolonising the European powers. The Netherlands springs to mind, even if it means freeing them first from the German conquest....

It makes the King leader; the "triumvirate" is represented as a National Spirit.

@Bratyn

can you clarify which branches will be DLC? is it just 'a change in course' ?

will 'revisit colonial policy' and 'global defense' be free?

returning all foreign territory that Britain holds (think Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Falklands).
o_O

the status of "foreign territory held by Britain" of one of those, is a lot more controversial than the other three.
