That is why I don't like Canada's focus tree either. I haven't played any of the other British colonies but I played Canada quite a bit and very much dislike that almost all resource development is under "War Bonds" locked by World Tension.

Sounds like they're all changing based off British choices, Bratyn said they're looking into ways to handled co-operation with the British choices and the Commonwealth- which will take a fair bit of work.

Most likely they're just going to change the conditions of the Commonwealth Focus Trees to 'UK has chosen X Focus" to unlock certain ones, or lock others.

By the way, I'm a bit surprised, Britain has foci to declare war on almost all majors except France, it's oldest rival. Is it on purpose?

if you go communist and they deny decolonisation you probably get a war goal.

Eh, weren't most Communists all in favor of uniting at this stage, making a Global Revolution? I wouldn't be surprised if they add something- even a decision- to just support Communism in France, since they're close to flipping in the beginning anyway.

Or the French AI pay attention to your focus and adjust theirs accordingly(and also flip Communist).

And the French and English/British weren't exactly Rivals anymore, not after WW1, both were wanting to maintain the peace in Europe- with themselves holding all the power- admittedly- but still were focused on co-operation, especially through the League of Nations. I truly believe they were staunch allies at this point.

With that being said, I wouldn't say no to a French War-Goal because you do conquer everyone else.. and if you retake old parts of the Empire(USA) you might as well take the parts of France than England used to own :p

The tree isn't finished fully by the sounds of it so we may see it.

If we own Man the Guns but not Together for Victory, will the dominions (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa) be British puppets? It would seem implied by some of the focuses. Or will we need TfV as well?

I could also easily see a non-aligned or fascist Britain go after French colonies in order to make its hegemony absolute. And same for a non-aligned or fascist France.

I'm playing as England right now and I like this new tree much better than the current one. But one thing I don't get is the (democratic) decolonization path. It gives you very little (just some manpower and political power) while leaving you without your empire. The other option, reinforcing the empire, gives a lot of tangible bonuses. I hope the final tree will be more balanced.

I would love to hava ability for British AI to do a secluded democratic run - let's say 90% to reject later German demands, 10% to isolate itself from politics.

It seems to me that it's mostly there for the Communist path, but it's still available as Democratic because why not? If you don't intend to go Communist you don't need to take that tree, but you still can for roleplaying etc.

You can choose for any ideology to decolonize, but it works best for democratic or communist Britain (and is more or less required for the latter). The grand total it gives you (as it stands right now) is 650,000 manpower and 650 political power. Considering Britain is rather starved for manpower early on, these are not insignificant bonuses, considering many of those territories don't really give you anything.

Hmm, Looks good, but I notice a lack of a distinct army path, which could be a problem...

Despite this I'm still hyped for this :D

Edit: Whilst I remember, has the shameful industrial effort focus been changed at all to something other than 1 x 50% research bonus?

Why isnt it possible to use the "move to secure the Dominions" mechanics if you are democratic Britain? It would be cool to have a countermeasure if the Dominions decide to break free, even more after the war on Germany has ended.

If Britain and Italy take out Germany together then do they have an option for dividing the country into multiple puppet states?Hitler really isn't the type you want in charge of a puppet Germany you want to stay loyal so an alternative could be nice

I predict it'll behave funny and have bugs with interplay with every British-facing NF tree there is, and some of those bugs will never be fixed.

As appealing the tree looks, expanding the game with new NF trees that feature interplay with each other and several branches each is an engineering nightmare of complexity, and us players are the ones to suffer for the effect that design choice has on quality.

Will there be a new US focus tree with the Man the Guns DLC? I hope for a new American focus tree.

yes, US and UK re-worked trees, and two new focus trees for minor nations (not announced yet)
