As i go british path to fasizm or with comunizm how i can get rid of "war to end all wars" spirit ?

Can you add another focus to british fascizm whith allow uk to aliance with japan against usa to reteake this former colony ? Can you add another focus to close with portugal and france to obtain this perpuse ? Meaby a litle fascist bust to convince colonial powers to reconqest bouth americas as coalition and reshape world in to new concert of powers ?

Oh wow, I really like the add-ons for the UK. I especially like how you have a lot of give-and-take for each path, making each one have its own issues and problems but also reward you in their own ways.

I now want to take Eddie on as a permanent Monarch, despite the silly twit lowering my Stability in the old format. Also really like the Blackshirt Mechanics for fascism.

I really can't wait to see what you do with the US with how you handled politics here.

Great, just one minor detail, if/when UK cedes northern ireland, will their name change to Great Britain or similar? The United Kingdom afterall cannot be "United" when they cede the other 'kingdom' :)

England and Scotland are the Kingdoms. Wales is a Principality. Northern Ireland is a province.

(The giving up of NI has been something I have complained about in another thread)

Well that's not all true. I mean, Wales is a principality, but the rest of it isn't completely accurate. England and Scotland were Kingdoms, they combined to become the single Kingdom of Great Britain. When the Kingdom of Great Britain unified with the Kingdom of Ireland, then it became the United Kingdom of GB and I. So despite the majority of Ireland seceding, the United in United Kingdom primarily refers to the fact that the UK still controls part of Ireland (same reason Saint Patrick's saltire is still on the flag). Northern Ireland is not a province because it is not the complete historical province of Ulster.

That's not true, England, Scotland and Wales make up the Kingdom of "Great Britain", while Ireland made up the other, hence why it is called "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland", Great Britain and Ireland being the united kingdoms.

Are you sure about this? I thought Great Britain was a geographical area - the big island to the east of Eire, but that England, Scotland and Wales were nations (two kingdoms and a principality) that happened to be located on that island?

The United Kingdom is not a personal union, it is a single Kingdom ever since the Act of Union of 1800 (which incorporated Ireland) and prior to that the Act of Union of 1707 (which united England and Scotland). Wales had been conquered by England centuries earlier. The formal name is The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and it's a single country. What the others are referring to is the fact that the Act of Union of 1707 created the Kingdom of Great Britain, not "the United Kingdom" technically. But that kingdom ceased to exist as an independent entity anyhow in 1800 so it's at best a piece of historical trivia.

This.

Also, Great Britain is indeed a geographical term referring to the larger island of the British Isles; it derives from the Latin term Britannia major, in contrast to Britannia minor, or Brittany, the area in north-western France.

And historically the BUF never got above 50,000 members; far fewer, in fact, after he started with the pro-German rhetoric. Going against Germany is an integral part of the very basis of plausibility for this path, so no, we will not be adding options to ally with Germany (in fact the AI will become very unwilling to ally with a fascist Britain).

Ekhm Japan turning communist was not unlikely but absolutely IMPOSSIBLE and yet you have made it an option.

If Britain had had turned Fascist then allience with Germany against SU or something like that wouldn't have been impossible. Fascist Britain allying with III Reich would have been far more possible than a lot of options available in focus trees...

I just hope we can still make Edward VIII become national leader if we go fascist. Brings back the CK2/EU4 feels.

@Bratyn

I remember you saying you would improve some of the old UK focuses that were in need of some love; I saw the recent stream (part 2) and didn't notice any changes to these, so thought I would just ask here.

Some examples:

Industrial Effort: just 1x industry bonus?

Sanction Japan/Germany/Italy/USSR: currently only provide minor sanctions, should be made full (-100 trade) sanctions I think, like the USA tree has?

Fortify East Asia: currently broken as it does not target Malaya unless directly owned by the UK (I wrote a bug report for this).

Singapore Strategy/Hold Hong Kong: each of these is three 70 day focuses that do very little and are quicker to do manually; these should be revamped or merged I think. I understand that they're supposed to act as a buffer to dow'ing JAP too early, but they're all very weak focuses.

Balkan Strategy: kind of pointless; provides relations with some Balkan countries regardless of their political direction, and doesn't do anything of value... re-think this one, maybe?

Influence China: odd - what can this do within the confines of the current China/WtT setup? might be better to make this fire an event that helps China somehow - perhaps off-map factories or providing some guns/artillery?

Fighter/Bomber/Coastal Command: these are fine, but Bomber uses the 'heavy air' tag which can be kind of confusing, and it relates to the old (beta) air frame structure, not actual plane types. I think it makes more sense to use the strategic bomber category here instead. I think all light/medium/heavy air frame categories should be removed from focus trees, as it is not immediately obvious to the player what they actually refer to. Personally I think Fighter Command should be fighters + heavy fighters, Bomber Command should be tactical + strategic bombers, and Coastal Command should be naval bombers + CAS - that way everything is represented (currently CAS is missing) and the three are balanced with two sets of tech bonuses each. On a related note, please change Trafford Leigh-Mallory (military high command) from close air support to bomber interception; if you really need a close air support expert you could add Arthur Tedder.

Similarly, the two GER Befriend China/Japan focuses are pretty pointless; at the very least the JAP one should remove the German officers from CHI, and both should provide some off-map factories or tech bonuses or... something.

I think it makes sense to use some of the WtT mechanics (off-map factories/decisions) for the ENG/GER focuses that relate to CHI/JAP (see above).

Also, not sure if intended, but the UK currently doesn't get any cruiser (light/medium/battle) or submarine tech bonuses AFAIK. Light cruiser bonuses would certainly make sense, as the UK built more of them than anyone else - they didn't build any heavy cruisers or battlecruisers after the 1920s, though, so I guess you can leave those out if you want.

You or podcat (I forget who, sorry) said that the naval branch 'would look different' once you'd added new stuff to it. I assumed this meant you were waiting until the new relevant mechanics were added; is this still the case? It currently looks the same.

Okay that's everything. Please consider my feedback if you have time. :)

This guy above ^ has a lot of valid points which would add a lot more diversity and immersion for the United Kingdom.
Well I did ask him, but no reply - devs are not compelled to, of course, but some confirmation would be nice I guess.

Thanks for your comment anyway. :)

Keep in mind the devs are super-busy, and tend to get a lot of people tagging them - I'd wager if they responded to every tag they got, they wouldn't have any time to actually develop the game. They've said in the past that they read more than they respond to, so just because you didn't get a response doesn't mean they won't have noticed (it doesn't mean they will have either of course). Even posts in the bug forum don't necessarily get a dev response, even if they do get looked at.

Yeah, tell me about it. I've stopped bothering now.

Yeah, tell me about it. I've stopped bothering now.

I read it the same day you wrote it, and I have also rated it helpful (though it would seem that the forums logged me out or otherwise bugged when I tried to do so, because I now see it does not show I rated it at all - that's a mistake I apologize for). I haven't responded to it in more detail yet because I haven't yet had the time to see which things can/should be implemented, in which forms, and to which lengths.

In general you can assume I read everything I get pinged on, and if I don't reply it's most likely because I either don't agree with it, I haven't had time to formulate a plan of implementation yet, or I'm currently working on something else and plan to take a more in-depth look again when I'm once again working on the subject the comment/suggestion pertains to. I prefer to make written replies when I know I can commit to something. Helpful/agree/respectful disagree ratings should show I'm aware of something until I am able to make such a reply.

In general, though, it's a useful list which I intend to use when I make another update/polish pass on the UK tree. However, as above, I can't yet say which things will be adjusted or in which ways they will be adjusted. Thanks for taking the time to write it up, though :)

And no, though playable, the tree isn't finished yet. There is a reason no release date has been announced, yet :)

@Bratyn

To be clear, that specific comment you quoted was in regards to bug reports. :p

Thanks for your reply, anyway. I hope the UK tree gets another pass before you release MtG.

Thanks again, and no need to reply to this one!
