The irony of this is that if AI Britain ever tries to "unite the angleosphere" they will instead be colonized by the Americans, who will by that point in the game be much stronger than them.

Have you seen the American AI? The war will be a tie, neither will be able to naval invade the other. It will suck.

I agree with you completely and I would say that a Tsardom Restoration path when they revamp the Russian focus tree is nearly 100% likely considering the demand and the fact that they put the Trotsky coup as a possibility in the game even though the likeliness for it was nearly 0% so good fun fact, looking forward to the Tsardom restoration path, and God Save the Tsar!

An "Icebreaker"* part of the focus tree might be fun too, for those who want an aggressive USSR. But yes, a "restore the Tsardom" path would be fun for alt-history types.

*The idea is that Stalin was using Hitler as a patsy to prepare the way for a Soviet invasion of all of Europe, and that Operation Barbarossa was launched only a few weeks before Stalin's plan went into effect. The idea has very little support in the English-speaking world, but given all the alt-history stuff in the game seems ideal.

Taking into account level of PDX research, I won't be surprised at all.

The Falklands were originally settled by the English, and many Englishmen still remain there. I'm not sure they belong in a decolonization focus as at the time, no one really thought they should be purely Argentinian.

Same with the people living in Gibraltar being British, but you could handwave it away as saying that the Foreign Office is riding roughshod over their wishes in order to make the Argentinians / Spanish / etc happy.

So I looked up the Battle of Cable Street, since that is what banned the political uniforms which hurt the British Union of Fascist. It appears the "battle" was nothing more than the Blackshirt's trying to due a march and a whole bunch of leftist counter protesters showed up and started a huge fight with the police. Why were the Blackshirt's punished with the Public Order since it appears they were obeying the law?

Whilst you've got a point, it's not like the BUF weren't still enemies of the British state. The government just sided with the international socialists instead of the national ones :p .

Still seems really unfair, since the march appeared to be completely legal. But. then again the Labour party was in power at the time so I guess it should not be that surprising.

@Bratyn

One of the things that's always bothered me about HOI4 is I never felt like the battle of the Atlantic really mattered in game. Yes, the allies can trade for supplies with US/Canada, but that's nothing compared to the millions of tons of cargo that was sent across to support the war effort... Crippling those shipping routes hurts allied production, but I rarely find it's enough to change the face of the war.

Since there's a focus on Naval warfare, and the British tree is being adjusted, any chance this will change? Maybe removing some of the native resources and having some focuses to import resources from NA to make this theater more important?

Apologizes if this has been asked before, I only skimmed some of the previous pages.

I completely agree, maybe for this DLC they can change the mechanics to make the Battle of the Atlantic more vital.

This new UK focus tree is very cool indeed! I love the new branches and icons, and especially the SAS one.

All I would add to the discussion is that I agree with many other users that an Imperial Federation path should absolutely be added, and I think there should be an event for a UK general election if the UK is not at war by 1940, because there was in fact an election planned for autumn 1939 but the outbreak of war meant it was postponed. The options would be either the "National Government" (an all-party coalition) under Chamberlain, or a Labour government under Attlee.

Also I do not believe that, except for under very specific (and extreme) circumstances, King Edward should be the leader of the UK. It would make more sense if he remained a "national spirit" of some kind, and Lloyd George or Churchill was the head of government. Even in a fantasy scenario in which he remains king and ceases to be a purely constitutional monarch, there would still be a Parliamentary government with a prime minister and cabinet.
