like teleporting bombers, no offcombat CAS...

Offcombat CAS was in both HoI2 and HoI3, and worked badly in both games because it's ability to wipe out divisions from the map without them even being near the front. The same about not working properly in HoI2 and HoI3 can be said about bombers not teleporting but having to fly all the way to the target province that was to be bombed one province at a time on the map.

If you have some good suggestions how to solve this and balance it well I recommend making a more in depth suggestion in the suggestion forum. :)

At least bugfixes would be nice. For example, war college focuses for CZE and India are broken since WtT.

well, i think it is possible to nerf it to the point where it is a waist of fuel due to how low dmg it can do, but still meaningful if you have too much fuel, which would be kinda authentic

Great to see so many lines (almost half) of the roadmap checked off. A lot of great progress made, still a lot to do. I have confidence that the improvements still to be done will be done, and done well. Looking forward to continued evolution of a rapidly improving game.

yeah, I doubt we'll ever see off-combat CAS in HOI4. to model this aspect we have the air superiority effects. Random attacks on divisions out of combat would be very hard to spot and know what to do with

Would be nice if CAS could damage infrastructure then, specifically radar, airfield runways, and to a lesser extent bridges etc, because they did make those sorts of attacks with some frequency. As it is (unless I've missed something major) they can't specifically target those things.

If they result in equipment losses and reduced mobility during the day then all is fine. Otherwise it would be impossible to model combat in Italy and Normandy.

Great job team on seeing through so much of the roadmap, HoI4 is really solid already and I'm grateful for the support the team continues to give it!

And for the speculators - while I am just as eager for more content - with all of the hints around performance and increased 64-bit support, my bet is that Hydra is simply a fun reference towards multi-threading and parallel threading improvements for Clauswitz 2. It would be great if there are some secret weapon hints, but I will be happy with performance too!

Hydra will be a free update only so it wont come with focus trees or such. I might come with some cool stuff, but its not accompanying an expansion or the like. See it like a big tech patch. The reason we step up to 1.7 in version numbers is because of 64 bit as well as some other stuff we cant talk about yet to clarify the difference (normally we only increment major numbers for expansions otherwise)


yeah it would be nice if there was a way you could open it up to declare war on them as UK to stop the trade. Maybe something for the future. Atm the best you can do I think is staging a coup.
EDIT: I forgot but UK has a "Secure the Oil Imports" focus as part of global defense that gives you wargoals to take Iran/Iraq, so you can use that also. A general solution would be nice though


If all goes according to plan the very rough timeline is that 1.7 happens before summer at some point but 1.8 is large (together with expansion) and takes longer.

I see. That's fair enough.

I do seek a clarification, though:
Now that Britain can only take the "Alliance with Germany" focus with Fascist Germany, what happens if (as Imperial Germany) I go down the "Expatriate The Communists" route AND Britain is led by Edward VIII, will an Anglo-German faction still be available once I take "Alliance With The Shade"?

Does this patch include the desperately needed AI reshuffling issue fix? I can't find it in the patch notes. There are some things about garrisoning, but seem to be something else.
And "front stability" is something left for the future. I know everyone play this game differently, but for me personally, if a game that's mostly focused on world war 2, has a problem with soviets basically giving up and letting enemy troops roam free in the motherland, well.... it's kind of pointless to play. Sure, i could play some minor in south america, but that's not why i bought the game.
Now, if there is actually a fix, then I'm suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper happy.
But if it's not....oh my.

Does this patch include the desperately needed AI reshuffling issue fix? I can't find it in the patch notes. There are some things about garrisoning, but seem to be something else.
And "front stability" is something left for the future. I know everyone play this game differently, but for me personally, if a game that's mostly focused on world war 2, has a problem with soviets basically giving up and letting enemy troops roam free in the motherland, well.... it's kind of pointless to play. Sure, i could play some minor in south america, but that's not why i bought the game.
Now, if there is actually a fix, then I'm suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper happy.
But if it's not....oh my.

Its like the first item in the AI fix list, maybe wont help for 100% but should improve front lines in theory :)

"- ai will now check enemy's neighbors for calculating how many units it should assign to a front"

Bigger front line balance is for the future as I understood.

Is that it? I was under the impression it's a different thing. The reshuffling from what I thought was happening between the capital and the front.
I thought the one mentioned here was a different but similar bug. There other one was making the Soviets also shuffle but between Europe and Asia (for Japan).
Well, but if it's that, then I'm super happy :)
