I see no mention of changes to nukes, but I've just dropped 5 nukes on Italy and their Unity has dropped by... 5-10%. Previously a large scale nuclear attack would pretty much reduce an enemy to 0 unity - was this an intentional change?

EDIT: Kinda amused I have to use nukes to knock Italy out of the war when Japan and Germany have already fallen I should add.

The problem with flavor events is that they interfer with gameplay a lot of the time. I think we are more likely to move in the direction of decisions etc.
It was mentioned decisions would probably come on the DLC after this next one (I assume on 1.5), so are there any plans to add flavor until then? Maybe get the art team to draw portraits for more historical leaders for minors and such?

When looking through the files I noticed on my Soviet mod that Kazakhstan is no longer commented out (got an error about a duplicate KAZ) - now it's not a releasable nation but has provided me with two political leaders (Thanks who ever found those), so I was wondering what is the purpose of Kazakhstan currently? or is that a 1.4/1.5 thing that you guys are working on. :)

We broke half a million sales of Hearts of Iron IV which the team celebrated with cake and working on the 1.3.3 patch :)
As game director for HOI this feels really good and shows that WWII sandbox games are something people want and its not really just a small niche! More practically this means for us that HOI will have a long future ahead of updates and expansions because the support is there for sure :) and speaking of....

(This is meant to be a sad, but hopefful comment, im very sorry if it doesnt sound so, i have a lanaguage barrier)

Im really sory to ear this, because if sandbox ww2 games is waht people look for, i really am, i guess there arent many veteran paradox players arround. Im very sad about this, because the game and the company has a really good potencial
we all know waht this means now
i hope future expantions will improve the game and bring back the veteran players

i just want to see waht happens with victoria 3, i hope veteran players will buy it too, not only people who like sandbox games, because that wont be fun anymore

but i still think paradox is still working on a game, and its doing a good job, by improving it slhightly every patch

Alt history is a major feature of every paradox game. Hell, V3 had tons of art of crazy alt history.

Just came back from a game as Germany. You know, in my blond Norwegian head it makes sense that something as important as an amphbious assault should be a bloody pop-up message. Give it a "don't show me this again" Donald checkbox for players who are very smart and don't need to be told about amphibious invasions, but for the rest of us, an easily missed sound effect and a warning icon/banner in a coloumn of such banners just isn't good enough.

Edit:
On a brighter note, I like how the AI takes care to guard its beachheads now. Even after advancing inland they had left a whole stack of divisions behind to guard the ports that served as their vital supply drop-off point. One of the cities had 10 bloody divisions. Very nice to see, if frustrating when trying to take those cities :D .

I still miss them a lot as well. Oh what's that battle over there? Another invasion! It's exacerbated by the sheer volume of invasions, which I don't think helps. It may be the case that when invasion frequency becomes a bit more subdued, the alert stands out, but I'm very much still in the "it'd be right handy to have a pop-up" (when the invasion actually happens). The alert hanging around for a month or so after a successful invasion is also not always helpful (as it means I can miss new invasions, because I'm ignoring the alert because I assume it's for an old invasion).

Looks like it wasn't in this patch, but a great modification to the AI for the next patch is to make it so that they focus on industrial foci until they actually have a military. Currently when you release/puppet a nation they'll go everywhere but there (with the exception of Egypt and Kenya usually), which means they'll have not a single infantry division ready when World War II starts but they'll have really well developed forces if they were theoretically able to deploy them.

I think it is because Mao is already leader of the People's Republic of China and if the "normal" China becomes communist, then the leader of this communist China would be Mao. That means, Mao would reign over People's Republic of China and Communist China at the same time. Paradox decided to switch the Leader of Communist China to Zhang Guotao instead creating an event which united both Chinas.

Ah that makes more sense thanks for clarifying, the original patch notes were a bit vague so I got confused

Ok, playing as the Soviet Union - tested several games, every time I try to go after Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia their independence is immediately guaranteed and this is just by sitting their - I've cause 0 WT.

Going after Finland the same thing happens. However, if they're not guaranteed 100% of the saves I've done they give up Karjala.

This is very frustrating.

I still miss them a lot as well. Oh what's that battle over there? Another invasion! It's exacerbated by the sheer volume of invasions, which I don't think helps. It may be the case that when invasion frequency becomes a bit more subdued, the alert stands out, but I'm very much still in the "it'd be right handy to have a pop-up" (when the invasion actually happens). The alert hanging around for a month or so after a successful invasion is also not always helpful (as it means I can miss new invasions, because I'm ignoring the alert because I assume it's for an old invasion).
I don't notice invasions anymore. Way too many fake alerts.

Just came back from a game as Germany. You know, in my blond Norwegian head it makes sense that something as important as an amphbious assault should be a bloody pop-up message. .

Clearly, this is a feature when playing as Germany: ignoring the main amphibious assault. I think the internal memo called it, "Can't Wake the Fuhrer".

Yes that would be nice if you added those for normal commands so I can spice up the gameplay.
I changed the commands to work for all before we pushed out 1.3.3. It was a last minute thing so might have missed one, but I think I got all the new ones

May I ask why Kazakhstan is no longer commented out? My mod screamed at me that KAZ was duplicate and I found it was no longer commented out. Is this for 1.4/1.5? As they're not a releasable nation as the states they should have are still commented out.
