Hi everyone, here is the first version of the 1.5.2 patch. We'll be adding more stuff before its ready but its great with more feedback so you can already opt into the beta. (Please read the text below first though)

Why beta patch and should you download it:
We do open beta patches to make sure we get a lot of testing and catch new issues before a patch goes live.
So, if you know how to use beta patches and dare to live a little dangerously (I wouldnt attempt ironman on this build tbh in case it ruins your save), and would love to help then check this out. I am not going to promote this patch outside the forum because, well, its beta and not fully supported. If you run into problems, just roll back to default version.

Note that just because a reported issue isn't listed below doesn't mean its forgotten or that we aren't prioritizing it. Just that it hasn't gotten a fix yet. The point of the patch is to make sure the stuff we listed is ok, not necessarily fix more stuff. So questions like "Have you fixed X yet" is best answered by doing a search through the patchlog below, or test yourself. More fixes than whats below will keep coming in future updates.

So to make stuff super clear:
This is BETA. meaning we haven't even QA tested all the things ourselves.
Its here so we get help with that and can release a real patch faster and in a better shape
It could all crash and burn, if that is scary just keep playing 1.5.1 and let others help with BETA testing.
No ETA on actual release yet. another week at least.

- Clarified Treaty with USSR" requiring "Anti-Soviet Pact" to not have been taken.
- Army group orders now does not mention number of unit information in them.
- Made the call ally tooltip properly indicate when a civil war is not joinable by an ally due to low world tension, just as it already does for the other country if they want to initiate a join war action.
- Call to war and join war actions in the diplomacy screen no longer show every individual war relation in the list of wars, but just the primary one.
- Allowed a country to be invited into peace conferences even if some of their faction allies are at war with the winners of the war, as long as the country being invited is at peace with all the winners and at war with the losers.

- Fixed SS recruitment crashing the game under very specific circumstances.
- Fixed CTD when asking a lend lease to some AI countries within the first day of the game.
- Puppets surrender with their overlords and any other majors even if they have been in the war for fewer days than normally required to surrender. This fixes a crash elsewhere when transferring the puppet in a peace conference.
- Attempt to gracefully skip over opponents who are no longer at war with each other when cleaning up war relations at the conclusion of a peace conference. This avoids crashes when multiple peace conferences get initiated and completed simultaneously, especially due to scripted white peace events.
- Ensured all buildings in the newly-changed Polish and German states are present in those states, to avoid crashes.
- Fixed CTD on create_unit effect with invalid template name. Now shows an error instead.

- Fix issue where scripted events that try to add countries to a civil war were silently doing nothing if world tension is too low. The world tension check should not automatically apply to scripted events; the country should just be directly added to the war, which is now once again the case.

- Reduced factory output penalty from long march spirit for PRC (now -15%/-5%, down from -25%/-10%).
- Changed penalty from Chinese idea Illegal Regime (-0.35 => -0.2)
- Last 3 radar techs now increase aim of static AA guns by 20% each.
- Each intermediary AA tech now adds 8% damage reduction from enemy bombers.
- Each AA equipment unlock now increases static AA damage output by 10%.

- Fixed cancel_trigger for timed decisions not removing, but instead executing remove_effect if the mission was completed.
- Fixed guaranteeing nations not being auto-called into war when neither the guaranteeing country nor the attacking country are in factions.

So how do I get this?
1. In steam right click the game in the list of games and pick Properties
2. Go to the Betas tab
3. in the drop-down select 1.5.2_beta (if it doesnt appear you might have to restart steam)
4. Close Properties. Steam should now queue up an update and will display the game in the list as Hearts of Iron IV [1.5.2_beta]
5. if all went well the last bit of the version number in launcher should match the one mentioned in this thread title - which should be the correct checksum.
6. Once we go official you can just remove the beta branch and go back to main by doing this again and selecting NONE.

If this seems even a little bit complicated just skip it and wait for patch to become official.

Other notes:
- Should be savegame compatible with 1.5.1, but its BETA so no guarantees (you may be attacked by ghostsharks, or save may load corrupted etc etc). We have edited the map however, so there will be a hole on the polish border if you are using an old save. It should work fine, but let us know if its causing any issues. I'll always recommend starting a new campaign on new versions just to be safe.
- We have now fixed more MP issues and it should now be more stable. If you or your group are having desync issues please please make a bug report with saves from host/client in our bug forum because right now for us MP is really stable so if it isnt we want to know.

pretty sure the 1.5.1 changelog wasn't actually included in the patch (the changelog file), so when u release this make sure it includes 1.5.1 changes as well as 1.5.2

also pls add new counters and motorized truck icon for france

hey do u think there is time to add a few more generals in 1.5.2, there were some lists posted in the 1.5.1 affixed thread

i am thinking mainly italy and france, but i guess it depends on art time
 
- Adjusted Vojvodina and Serbia states to make Austro-Hungarian borders more historical.
Will this be the case with Fascist Hungary (the REAL historical route, nothing historical about recreating A-H empire) borders too?
 
I am having the 'no files changed' issue as well, even after reinstalling the patch several times through steam
Edit : Also have the correct checksum yet none of the changes listed
 
- Winter War peace treaty no longer hands over Petsamo (SOV will have to get that the hard way)

- Prevented various exploit methods which could pull divisions out of naval transfer convoy combat by cancelling or changing division orders.

Also nice to have German cores on Danzig and Memel again.
 
@podcat , its so sad that even though I raised awareness in posts replying to @Bratyn , about the border changes to A-H you still did this ahistorical change to Hungarian HISTORICAL borders, please for the sake of realism, separate Vojvodina to have the chance to form historical ww2 Hungary and Serbia + make sense of the London Conference.

Edit: I don't want to be a cryboy, but I consider myself a dedicated fanboy of hoi4 and also someone who likes playing "historically realistic", and I understand that you just want to expand the game and you work really hard with these quick patches and I appreciate it very much, but please have some mercy on the ww2 aspects

Quick/dumb question:

you added in dependencies in this patch but how does one set a mod as being a dependency? I tried doing it like I would in CK2 and that didn't seem to work. An example would be mighty appreciated.
