@podcat

for 1.5.2 could you please 'fix' the king michael's coup focus for romania so that it has some requirements: they should be that carol II is not king, and romania is in a defensive war (maybe even having some negative warscore)

it makes no sense that the coup can happen (either player or AI) if carol is still king, as the idea of the coup was to overthrow ion antonescu, not michael's own father the legitimate king

this oversight has always existed since death or dishonor and is easy to fix

Before you release the patch, could you look into if Australia ought to be the owner of Nauru (state 725) at the start of the game, instead of the UK? Seems they were the ones most in control.

Additionally when I reported on additional claims to be added to the Imperial German focus, "Break the Anglo-French Colonial Hegemony" (which you promptly added, thanks), I seem to have missed Nauru and Ruanda-Urundi (Northwestern part of the former German colony of German East Africa/Tanganyika, which fell under the mandate of Belgium). The Belgian mandate comprises modern day Rwanda and Burundi.

I agree, and I actually modded it so that it starts a civil war, which makes Romania effectively switch sides. And yes, it should be relatively easy to fix and make Romania more interesting to play.

i'm not sure about nauru (so i am not trying to correct you) but i think that the uk should control the solomons, rather than australia

do you know about this?

in vanilla i do not think a civil war is needed, and paradox would probably not want it as it's more work to set up and balance, but i see your point

i think this would be fine:

Code:
        available = {
            is_subject = no
            NOT = { has_country_leader = { ruling_only = yes name = "Carol II" } }
            OR = {
                has_defensive_war = yes
                surrender_progress > 0.1
            }
        }

also what about octavian goga? can he ever be seen in the game?

Hmm, seems Australia got the parts that were former German possessions (Bismarck and North-Eastern Papua), while the Solomons east of former German control was a British colony (though with Australians being present and doing business). Wikipedia truly is a blessing for quick research, though PDX still ought to cross check their references here.

Anyways, from the information above, I'd say yes. You are very correct. While Nauru (state 725) should go from UK owned to Australian owned, the Solomon Islands (state 634) should go from Autralian owned to UK owned if history is a priority here (it shouldn't have that much of a gameplay impact either).

So from this we can create a list of to-dos for Paradox (here you go @Bratyn, hope notifications/tags don't stress you out too much. I try to limit them, and if there's someone you'd like me to tag instead please tell me):
  • Make the Solomon Islands (state 634) owned by the United Kingdom instead of Australia at the start of the game.
  • Make Nauru (state 725) owned by Australia instead of the United Kingdom at the start of the game.
  • Make the Imperial German focus "Break the Anglo-French Colonial Hegemony" give a claim on Nauru as well (and to make it more tidy for the players, sort the colonies in the list by location, eg. Gabon, Namibia/South-West Africa, Tanzania, Papua, Bismarck, rest of the pacific islands. That's something I try to go for when modding myself.)
  • Make Polish acceptance of "Danzig for Guarantees" rename the Vovoideship of Silesia to "Kattowitz"?

And future to-do lists (which are probably too much tedious work to do by scheduled patch release on monday):
  • Add Belgian owned Ruanda-Urundi state in former German East Africa (or two separate states, Ruanda and Urundi).
  • Make "Break the Anglo-French Colonial Hegemony" give a claim on this as well.
  • Maybe a Togoland state in the future (or two since it seems it was split between the UK and France)?
  • Maybe a Northern Slesvig state for Imperial Germany to get their grabby Monarchist hands on? PDX have stated that Eupen-Malmedy is too small (and thus Hultschin certainly is too small to matter here), but Northern Slesvig comprises a significantly bigger area.

As far as MEFO is concerned I think we have hit the sweet spot. I think building Inf in the 8/10 states and CIC in those + Reichsautobahn does the trick. You guys want to share your 39' army composition?

Yes, when you rush you need to realize you are giving up all of that countries potential future builds that they would do. And which you will only get if you make now.

Of course, you are also grabbing all of their factories and resources for your own use, so there are some benefits.

In my experience with some of the updates, since the conclusion of peace and the annexation of the country factories for the focuses - lost. As well as capital plants

Personally I like to give to build the victim))

Now this trick works only with Ethiopia
If you give her the region of Somaliland and force or wait until she studies the focus of the Seas, then 3 shipyards will be yours)
However, military factories and plants will disappear

I think extra slots remain but base slots are cut to 50% after annexation because of losing core state status.
No, sadly, the slots also disappear
and I always prefer puppets as a manpower
I didn't check the truth when you make a puppet (and then it gets the focus tree already completed by its predecessor) whether the slots come back to it
there is a view of the annexation of the country and its re-formation

If you don't use a civil war, the only thing the focus does is make Michael leader of the non-alligned party, which does mean NOTHING if Carol II has abdicated (which is a prerequisite for the focus in my mod, since Michael would never do a coup against his father). You can't switch back to non-alligned after you got Antonescu of the Communists in power.

You could get around this by also making the nonalligned party the ruling party, without doing the civil war, but this'll mean Romania stays in the Axis.

This is the code I use, by the way:
Code:
    focus = {
        id = ROM_king_michaels_coup
        icon = GFX_focus_rom_coup

From my experience so far - not. Everything remains. It is just that the AI sometimes is too stupid to build in a sane way.

Once occupied, 50% of the slots are not available, but anything built remains. By that you can have several provinces with 5/3 (5 buildings with 3 slots total) of occupied territory.

Puppets of any form have 100% of the slots available - this includes Reichskommissariat.

Make Polish acceptance of "Danzig for Guarantees" rename the Vovoideship of Silesia to "Kattowitz"?
Königshütte would be more fitting IMO, seeing as the city was renamed by Poland after the Silesian Plebiscite and Katowice was actually the capital of Polish Silesia and as such a symbol of Polish presence there.

Also, Katowice has Slavic etymology (Kattowitz is just a German adaptation, not an exonym), Königshütte is about as German as it can be. And the name simply is cooler, you can't deny that.

You do lose half of the additional (bonus) slots upon state changing ownership though.

Thanks for the information. As for me personally, I would be fine with either Königshütte or Kattowitz, as I like them both as names for the state :)

Yeah, both would be fitting, but to be honest, I strongly dislike the basic name that's in the game ATM in the first place: Voivodship Silesia. Completely out of theme. Either rename all Polish states to Voivodships (but then, the borders do not conform Voivodship borders) or better yet just simply name it Polish Silesia or Katowice

This ...definitely shouldn't be the final released beta version. Other than soft some attack/defense tweaking that would help non-majors actually accomplish offensives, here's are 3 actual bugs from a quick game as Colombia:

1. Once the Spanish Civil War is in progress, the event declaring the end of the civil war fires spontaneously, even though the war is still in progress.
2. The bug with generated South American leaders not getting a portrait is still present.
3. Stockpile graph is out of position (misplaced to the left) when using UI scaling.
