It is just too much to read so I want to ask if you were able to fix the bug/exploit with Germany and the "Demand the Sudetenland" focus with historical AI focus.

When someone, for example player controlled Poland, conquers Chechoslovakia (or however it is written in English) including the Sudetenland, AI Germany will try to start the focus and abandon it over and over again. So it will not be able to advance its foci any further, which means it will never go for "Danzig or War" or anything else. And Poland is save from Germany.

And I wonder if it would be the same with the USSR and Bessarabia. Hm, maybe I will conquer Romania later today.

I hope it is already fixed, because it is kind of annoying.

- Improved how AI calculates which is a garrison template (making it pick the proper one as infantry.)
The AI still seems to convert bulk of its divisions to the garrison template at the start, though not sure if this change was intended to do anything about it -- for production the AI does seem to pick the 'proper' infantry, it's just it converts them to garrisons as soon as they're done. I suppose since it starts to convert some back and/or produce proper divisions couple years down the road, when the equipment shortage is reduced, it's not that much of an issue, overall.

Still having problems with Germany not be able to take low countries casing a WW1 scenario again. They also for some reason Declared war on the Swiss before Around the Maginot line.

Ended up Declaring war on Norway, and Denmark even though the low countries were still not conquered.

Are you sure you updated your build?
Loaded up your save in 1.1.0 (5d33) and it switched around pretty much all units, recovered and crushed them (Netherlands, Belgium, and France).

I was playing on 1.01 last night as Republican Spain watching the game unfold and I 'think' the problem might be Switzerland. Germany seems to be declaring on the Swiss each and every game now and I think the lengthened front line combined with them trying to push through the Alps is having an extremely detrimental effect on their ability to conquer France and the Low Countries.

The AI still seems to convert bulk of its divisions to the garrison template at the start, though not sure if this change was intended to do anything about it -- for production the AI does seem to pick the 'proper' infantry, it's just it converts them to garrisons as soon as they're done. I suppose since it starts to convert some back and/or produce proper divisions couple years down the road, when the equipment shortage is reduced, it's not that much of an issue, overall.

Just went thru GER, ITA, ENG, and FRA templates, didn't see any template conversion.

FRA doesn't even have any divisions queued up to deploy, possibly due to ungodly starting equipment deficit of 24k
ENG has 3 Inf divisions queued up with no progress, inf equipment deficit of 21k
GER has 32 divisions queued up and progressing, with inf equipment deficit of 21k
ITA has 16 divisions queued up, with 8k inf equipment deficit

It's Jan 18 1940, and Germany is futilely attempting to slog thru low countries in winter (sigh).

let 3 games run into late 1942, newest beta version with me watching as SA minor.

Germany managed to capture france better than before in my experience, it still takes too long but they break through quicker.

However
, Germany still doesnt declare on the SU with historical focus on. I have +100hours in the game - always HF on -, most of them as SU and Ive yet to see a game where AI Germany decided to invade.

And even if I trigger it, Germany stands no chance whatsoever, even in '40 (france dead) the SU wins.

- I'm using the '39 starting scenario, which might affect the templates/research etc.
- I'm buffing AI Germany via the hard mode which increases Recruitable Population, Factory Output, Resource Gain, Max Prod. Eff, Prod. Eff. Growth, Construction Speed, Supply Consumption by up to 25% (in favour) so it has a significant boost compared to other AI nations.

I meant converting their existing divisions to the weaker template. ENG has 32 garrison divisions at the moment of screenshot, and 1 infantry division. It doesn't start with 32 garrison divisions.

Germany and Italy don't get affected by this, they have large starting manpower. It's low manpower countries that get affected -- the USA, the UK, France and Japan for some reason, despite actually having lot of people.

Are you sure you updated your build?
Loaded up your save in 1.1.0 (5d33) and it switched around pretty much all units, recovered and crushed them (Netherlands, Belgium, and France).

Germany abandoning western front to go to Africa. Hasn't even taken out Holland yet. And strat moving right past invasion of Italy. 36 divisions in Africa??

Ah, pre-war. Yep, manpower is probably over-riding the template design. AI determines it needs more divisions to cover all of it's responsibilities so is thinning it's divisions out.

Now May 2nd. France fell due ENG pulling it's troops out to go to Italy and Africa. Holland still hanging in there.

Italy desperately trying to contain invasion. German allies are stacked on Yugoslav border ignoring their pleas for help while now sending 66 divisions to Africa, along with the bulk of the Italian army.

This begs the question, how are Germany and Italy shipping all of these troops across the Med without the Royal Navy blowing the living hell out of them?

Sorry I asked. And yes, ENG still controls the Rock. Someone should remind whoever is commanding the Royal Navy of Admiral Byng.

I have logged around 170 hours, played all the majors, and have the exact same experience. With Historical Focus on I have yet to see AI Germany Declare war on the Soviet Union.

agree. Probably due to AI calculating it doesn't have a chance of winning.

DECLARE_WAR_RELATIVE_FORCE_FACTOR = 0.5, -- Weight of relative force between nations that consider going to war

Division spam due to high available manpower and ease of equipping divisions for majors might be the culprit. Or there is another bug in diplo code. Post a save file.
