I've just read the Twitter and it says:

1936 scenario is ready, and we're now working hard on the 1939 and the 1941 one's.

There won't be the same options than in EU3 where you can choose the date to start? I mean, i.e., I want to start my game on 18th November 1940. I could do it? Or will we have the same scenario menu than in HoI2?

seems like PI stays true to the scenario-system of hearts of iron.
It's easier to code and most people start at the same tree or four dates anyway

Therfore you need thousands of OOB's.....

Do you want to figure out were which division on specific days was?

There will be scenarios, because finding out where each division was in 1936-48 is, well kind of demanding. The forums did get to choose on one of the dates of the scenario, though.

But you can make the system search what dates are "saved" and let you choose only those. So people can mod new dates. For example, the first days of Overlord.

We considered "start at any date".. but the amount of work to make databases on every division at every date would take dozens of years to develop.

Johan, can you confirm whether or not there will be some sort of 1945 scenario, please? :eek:o

Oh, so the expansion will be called Hearts of Iron III: Original then? :p

No, I mean the original HoI3 (the first release) should have a 1945 scenario. We put our trust in Johan. Hopefully it shall be realised. :D

Doubt it. They made Napoleon's Ambition into an expansion in EU3 if history teaches us anything.

Yes, but the reasoning then was that warfare changed significantly between the Renaissance/Enlightenment and the Napoléonic Age. It did not change significantly between 1944 and 1945, however. Unless they choose not to put the atomic bomb into the game, and reserve it for an expansion pack (which is absurd, clearly) then they should have a '45 scenario. :)

I don't want to sound pessimistic but it was the case in HoI2 that fictional 1945 scenario was left for expansion. I'm sure they want to get WW2 timeline done first.

Did I specify that I wanted a fictional 1945 scenario?

I just said 1945 - the end of the war in Europe (nearly), and then finishing off Japan (read: invasion) and a good chance of trouble with the Soviets.

I explained this in a previous thread some time ago.

I do, however, see your point, and it probably would end up going into an expansion. Still, whilst there's time to put it in the original I don't see why they wouldn't. :eek:o

I like to dream. :D

They kinda confirmed the fixed dates allready last year when they asked to vote for another start date between 1942 and 1943.

I do hope for some nasty stand alone Scenario's, like a harder battle for Africa then in HoI2, or a Sealion.
