I'd like to see the end of babysitting the economic sliders. Every few seconds the numbers shift so something is in the red, and I have to readjust them. This is true with almost all Paradox games.
You can lock a slider at a certain number, but the target number shifts rapidly, so you are still at risk of over or underfunding something.
In addition to being able to lock a slider at a certain number, we should also be given the ability to set a slider to auto adjust to spend exactly at the required amount. If supplies needed shifts from 45 to 55, the slider should reset supplies generated to that number automatically, so I don't have to constantly watch it.
Of course, you may not have enough resources to fund everything, so you need a way to prioritize which slider gets funds first.
I know there is some auto adjustment available in HoI2, but not all sliders are included in the ones you can auto adjust, and so I still have to babysit the sliders constantly during a game.
Sadly, there is no such feature for EU3, so I fear it may not be included in HoI3.

1 model of sprites per country. We definately don't want that. I can't tell you how tired I was in HOI2 looking at my ME-262's and seeing them as monoplane ME-109's or maybe they were Fockewulf's but whatever. Same for tanks and infantry. And cavalry and mechanized/motorised should be its own sprite as well.

We can only hope right?

BUT I do not know what you mean by "foundered". From what I know how Eu3 sold, reviewed and forum-activity from compared to its previous game, I'd say the word can only be translated into astounding success.

Panzer General is the greatest game ever!!!! PG 2 & 3 sacraficed graphics for gameplay. Don't get me wrong PG 3 was OK... but a company should spend all their development $ on graphics at the sacrafice of gameplay. Fortunely for us this game already has the engine developed so we won't have that issue. :D

if Paradox had government money it would not have developed graphix in order to keep the money :))

anyway I hope this aspect is not exagerated

so, I wouln,t like to see animated generals and troops waving good luck after winning a battle or crying after loosing one :p

Please tell me that you have forgotten a "not" in this sentence.
I loved the PGseries as well, but I have bought and continue to buy Paradox Games for the simple reason that their games are real strategy games NOT C&C type pseudo strategy games. I do not care for 3D graphics (have a look at SupremeRuler2020, great concept but ruined by sprites and 3D), give me a good 2D Map and NATO counters.

As for the reviews - A certain 3D stratagy Game, by another publisher, (I will not mention the name as requested) got great reviews but was a total flop due to the fact that despite the great graphics it was so Buggy that it was unplayable. Please do let this happen to HOI.

i seem to recall a certain alpha screen with a counter-like graphic;)

and I don´t get all this fuss about a "dumbed down" game. Where do people get such information? the few things that have been confirmed (like tech system, division setup system,...) are actually MORE detailed than hoi2.

It was the counter-like graphic which got me worried ;)

Gameplay>Graphics

I grew up with games having little or no graphics. Gameplay does not equal Graphics. Good games that you don't get bored with have a solid gameplay element. That's why Paradox games are good. Graphics are just the icing on the cake... and I'm 38 not 14 ;)
