The argument against 3d is never moot, because it's an issue larger than just HoI3. People blindly worship 3d when it has no inherent superiority to 2d at all. Anything that helps open their eyes to the truth is worthwhile.
That last part is quite telling: everyone else has been brainwashed and lied to about the superiority of that
evil Depth! but you sir are a paragon of truth who is fighting the conspiracy against 2D gaming!
Whats next, are you going to post about how NASA really didn't make it to the moon? JFK was shot by the FBI? Elvis is still alive and kicking? Batboy is running for president?
Nobody worships 3D. You cannot point to one example of it here, so don't embarass yourself by trying. Instead, we get people like you who favor graphics over gameplay: I want 2D graphics in my game, no matter the cost and time in development that it might cost them! Who cares if the AI doesn't improve, I want my game to look like its the late 90's! That was the pinnacle of gaming perfection! Any kind of change is bad, because I don't like it!
3D is in. Period. It would cost lots of time and money to impliment a 2D system. Therefor, if you want or demand the game to be in or have 2D graphics, you are putting graphics ahead of gameplay.
Funny how hypocritical that is of you.
Back on subject: I would like to see an improved replacement system myself. Replenishing planes and tanks should cost many more ICs than infantry divisions, and if those units are not rested for a length of time it should be much lower rates of replenishment.
