After pressing play HOI3 on the launcher the cursor turns into a stopwatch and sound plays but no screen comes up and when I open task manager It says that HOI3 is not responding. When I test the program in compatibility troubleshooter it says "the working directory doesn't seem to be correct" please help I've been troubleshooting for hours at this point.

I don't think Podcat's LAA memory patch will fix this issue, unless he's got a lot of utilities running and chewing up the base 2Gb of memory in his system. It's more likely to be an issue with missing C++ redistributable files or graphics drivers, which require OLD versions of the files not included in the later Windows releases. See the HOI3 Tech Support sub-forum for more info on getting the required versions of those files.
