Welcome to the HoI3 LibrAARy Update Thread

This will be the LibrAARy update thread for HoI. Those who are veterens of the Paradox AAR forums already know the drill, but for our new recruits please read the following orientation briefing.

Please read the last paragraph to see the posting rules for this thread

When starting your AAR

The get your AAR listed in the HoI3 LibrAARy please make a post after you have started your AAR providing the following information:

  • The Nation that you are playing

  • The Title of the AAR itself

  • The Start Date of the AAR (usually the scenario start-date)

  • A Link to the AAR in question (either separately, or by hyperlinking the title)

If your post does not include at a minimum the above information, I will not enter your AAR into the LibrAARy.

You may also wish to include further information, such as:

  • The name of any Mod that you are using

  • The Style of the AAR (such as, narrative, gameplay, historybook, comedy)

  • The Version of the game you are playing (for example, HoI 1.1)

  • Whether the AAR is a Multi-Player AAR, or perhaps a multi-country AAR

  • A brief Description or precis of the game and/or goals

  • The Real-Life Date on which you started your AAR (please note, I am British, so if I misinterpret a US date format, please just drop me a line)

I include below a good example of how to make this post:

Myth said:
Explorations in Strategy - Italy at War
'36 singleplayer Grand Campaign as Italy
Vanilla HoI3 1.1
Started on 05/08/09. The writing style is a mixture of history book and gameplay. My main gameplay goal is to conquer myself an empire and not lose in the process.

I reserve the right not to include AARs that never get off the ground, which I will define as containing under 60 posts. If an AAR thread contains fewer posts that than, I may or may not include it at my discretion.

When finishing your AAR

Once your AAR has come to an end, either due to completion of the game, or because of abandonment for whatever reason, please make another post in this thread, including the following information:

  • The Title of the AAR

  • The Date the AAR ended (year is fine)

  • Why the AAR is ending (completion, lack of interest, technical glitch, etc.)

  • The Real Life Date the AAR came to an end

By posting the above, it will greatly aid in keeping the librAARy updated. I hope to make regular updates to the librAARy, and I will post in this thread so folks can know when an update has been made. Although I will do my best over the forum as a whole, unless you post your AAR details in here I make no promises that your AAR will be included in the librAARy, or that the librAARy entry will be current as of my last update.

Also, to avoid clutter in this thread it can only be used to either report a new AAR starting, an AAR closing, or a request to make a correction to an entry in the librAARy. Any other posts will be summarily deleted.

Vanilla HOI3 1.1

The AAR will be a narrative / history book AAR. The goal is to pursue real world policy objectives in the time that the AAR is taking place with only the information that would have been available to the actors at that date. I have started it on August 11th, 2009.

It's a Jolly Old War, isn't it, Stanley?

Nation: Jolly old England
Start Date: 1936, the year George V definitely did not die.

I'm cataloging the misadventures of a United Kingdom still ruled by Stanley Baldwin as it sort-of wages war against enemies foreign (Germany, Japan, et al) and domestic (the BUF, inefficiency, rice pudding). As Stanley might have said:

"You ask, what is our goal? Victory, as long as it's not going to be too terribly hard or very expensive. Victory, provided we don't have to invade the continent, and as long as France (or America) is willing to do the heavy lifting. Victory, over whoever it is the enemy is. Foreigners, I believe."

Updates above this point should now be complete.

(edit - missed one in fact. Will do it later)

I know in spanish subforum there are at least two aar based in hoi3

If they wish to report it here, they are welcome to do so.

Also, please carry this discussion on via PM. This is not a thread for discussion.
