Hi,

I'm Owsik, and I'm building mod a few years. A month ago a buy new PC on Skylake, main for faster HoI3 work.

But, for Skylake I was forced install Windows 7, HoI3 works fine but... my mod don't. I have version of my mod from january and february, both works okej on Windows XP, with no errors.

But on Windows 7 I can't reach to main menu:

I'm running HOI3 on a Windows 7 machine without any problems. So, its obviously something local to your set-up.

Have you tried stripping it down to basic HOI3 and seeing if that works and then if it does gradually adding the expansions and mods?

The only other thoughts I had were a) different graphic card? and b) different drivers?

I'm also running HoI3 (GSKH) on a Windows 7 without problems.

My mod (all versions and latest, from January and February) also running on Windows XP without problems.

But, problems are when I start my mod on Windows 7, game even not start.

Yes, i put my mod into a folder step by step. Problems start when i put folder 'units'... where is no changes from a haft year and i start HoI on XP with this 'units' hundreds of times. In this way game was crush in 'production menu'.

I doubt that graphic was a problem.

This is madness, i remove all 'units' except 'headquaters', the game will start and second time don't, when start errors make when marking units on the map and second time when you try to entry into 'politics'

So, i create mod where is many errors but there was no errors in XP?!

The only thing I can think of is that maybe some of the files corrupted when they were transferred to the new machine - or maybe there is something wonky going on because of different versions of notepad?

You could try the following:

Download and install Virtual-Box from Oracle on your Windows 7 machine. https://www.virtualbox.org/ (its free)
Create a virtual Machine inside Virtual-Box.
(a virtual machine is a virtual computer inside of a real computer just like a Matroschka puppet)

Now install Windows XP inside this virtual Machine.
Then install HOI 3 with all your tools inside this Windows XP.
Run HOI3.
This should work since your chipset (Skylake) will be obfuscated from XP by Virtual-Box.
