I don't think HoI 3 is now necessarily now in the "bargain basement", if you look at other digital distributors like Steam, they're all going crazy over sales. Even L4D2 was like 25% off a few days ago and it just came out.

complain to the EU about VAT. 25% ftl

Actually, according to European VAT law you're supposed to be selling me this with 21% VAT (Belgian max VAT percentage); and giving the VAT to the Belgian government instead of the Swedish one. You're also supposed to have a Belgian VAT number.
That is, if you're selling over 11 200€ a year to private citizens in Belgium.

You'd better take this up with your accountancy department.

(if not, you're risking about 20% fine on all VAT you payed to Sweden instead of Belgium, in addition to 2% delay intrest each month and a 500 euro flat fine for each quarter you payed to Sweden instead of Belgium - on top of the VAT itself, of course. And we can go back 7 years.)

What prevents you from buying at Gamersgate? I am from Spain and I buy all kind of things on the internet.

I am specifically talking about gamersgate. I mentioned I mailed them about the issue.

Damn. Those pesky European companies are discriminating against Europeans again.

If you ever travel to the states you'll feel vindicated sense your euro goes almost 50% father here than on the continent. Traveling in Europe as an American these days sucks.

It's not even really more expensive for you, since domestically there's not much difference between the dollar and the Euro. In general 1 Euro goes as far in Europe as 1 dollar does in the US, its only when you cross continents that the differences are felt in everyday transactions (I think).

Possibly. But that means that our Friendly Local Swedish Developers are getting either too much from Europeans or too little from Americans, because they're going to spend it in Europe, not across continents.

The sprite-packs only cost about €2/$2. So how come you paid a 10-fold of that ?

Because I "pre-ordered" to get the special sprite packs, which I can't get, as my username has an @ in it. But I also wanted the game as instantly as possible. So I could, you know, play. So, no sprite packs, and well... the rest of my story has been shared by hundreds if not thousands and has been covered in threads for the past 3 months in some detail.
