Also if I could put in a request when you do an expansion...

Could you create Navy and Air Strategic warfare AI like ground troops?

As in... I just want to build bombers/intercepters and subs/raiders and attach a naval/air HQ to a theater and say "go do your thing".

And the AI proceeds to bomb/intercept and raid/patrol without me having to micro manage it.

Suggestion for Expansion

I'd like to be able to take control of any unit in my alliance...or offer any unit of my own to any other country in my alliance.

For example, if I'm Germany, and Hungary is an Axis member, I'd like to be able to take over any of their units, bring them under my control, and do with them what I wish (I like to use them for rear and coatal guard).

I'd also like to be able to "force" them to take some of my units if is wish them to...again, if I'm Germany, I might want to offer some of my units to Italy in North Africa.

I'd also like to be able to take FULL Military control of my Axis partners.

Hello, johan, the first thing to say to you that I am a user of Spain, so I hope that you should forgive my English.
I have read the new post on the future changes of hoi 3. I have to say that I am infuriated, have worn out 40 € for a game incolpleto.
I ask you please to solve the topic of the yield and that the game aprobeche more than one nucleus.
These it is outrageous, with my 1000€ computer it is impossible to move the game from the year 1940. I wait for a solution
Also, from the patch 1.3 is impossible, that medium countries or porqueño like Spain or hollanda, they create theaters po if alone if they have conquered another country, like for example France.
As legal user and buyer of this game waited for a solution since you accepted of good taste my money

General Roles for War Buddies

I'm Germany, and Romania is in the Axis alliance.

Military Assignment: I'd like to be able to "assign" Romania and its forces a military task. Maybe that task would be to capture a military objective. Maybe that task would be to serve as a rear guard or partisan cruncher. Or maybe that task would be to help guard the coastline against invasion. Or something else.

Economic Assignment: I'm not sure if there is something here, but perhaps it would be possible to have them focus their research and/or economies into a single objective...like Oil research and production...or whatever.

I recognize the difficulties with allied countries sharing objectives, supply, theaters, etc. If that is not the intent until an expansion, then that is fine. However, this does break a lot of the coherence of the game.

The second main issue is that of the AI creating a reserve. As noted, this is also not possible until an expansion. But the current AI strategy (flood the front line will all forces, weaken the line to react to threats) causes problems for the AI when the Theaters expand.

However, what about the possibilty of having more expeditionary forces on shared borders - expecially when combat occurs? Or have allied nations participate in combat along shared borders? ie, say as Ger, I can join a battle that my ally Romania is having with the USSR, but I don't find that Rom will join a battle that I am having with USSR even though it is a shared border. Perhaps a % of a country's forces devoted to expeditionary forces (with % determined on proximity to opponents?)

The possibiity of assigning your expeditionary forces to a theater? ie, as USA, if I give a Inf Div to the UK, it would be cool to have the available theaters pop up and have me assign the div to say north africa...

I would like the option to pre-order the Expansion on GamersGate! While this is a masterpiece in waiting, I don't think (even with 1.4) that it will be there yet. As I recognize that Finances (and product demand) drive the decision making process, what better incentive to start to work on the patch than knowing that there is a set market for the product...

No, the fact is that this looks like a prank. Since I have already said in the Spanish forum. It is a game that like ami and to many people more it us cost 40 €. Sufficient money is the one that they have gained like so that almenos they consider to put the multi-nucleus topic. And not to say simply would turn out to be to them too many costono. It is indigninte please. even crysis it me works much better that this game in full HD. Gentlemen, improve the yield very very significantly in this patch 1.4 and us it do not want to sell in the porximo patch of payment (expansion).Sorry again for my English

Well now I'm definitely itching to play the 1.4 beta and see what I can possibly pick apart in it! :)

Thanks to all of the devs, and especially to Johan, King, Kallocain, Podcat, and Doomdark for all participating on this forum and answering as many of our questions as they can and trying to gather ideas for exactly what we want out of HOI3 and its potential expansions.

That kind of attention to detail and care is the only reason I have no problem preordering any game you guys make.

1. I would like to be able to call an election at any time (like in viky) so i could get rid of mass disent by putting a more popular party in power or to make the game more fun so it wont take ages to change a countries ideology e.g. have national socalist USA for example, OR make an event code to change ideology quickly along with the ministers or have a election.

2.also maybe ban / make new political parties

3. be able to move units off a non-allied / non-enermy island, for instance i was playing as portugal and during the spanish civil war i attacked a republican spain island after the war it became nationalist spains , my units were then stuck on it and nationalist spain refused to give me transit rights , and i could'nt get supplies to them or get them on my transports

One simple thing that i would like is the ability to lock an IC slider so that the AI can't move it. I like using AI control for my IC sliders so that I can for example, set upgrades to full and I don't have to go back and change the sliders everytime a unit upgrades. However, I would like the option to lock the Supplies slider at 0, while the AI still redirects IC once the upgrades get completed. Shouldn't be to hard to code I would think.

I can't see ever buying an expansion for HoI 3 without this addressed. Why would I want more of something that's broken and frustrating? That and the peace events which have ruined many a game for me already. I'd recommend PI simply admit failure after 1.4 and move on to making a new game of some kind instead of expansions to this one.

The peace events are indeed annoying, but I hardly consider them game-breaking.

The closest that comes to game-breaking is when a nation joins your faction at war with another member of that faction, thus setting the entire faction at war with itself.

These things can, and hopefully will be fixed in 1.4.

As well as they hopefully add some more code to the surrender events for Vichy and the Soviets to take into account Italy, Japan, or other nations likely to be in the Axis.

That, or they disable those surrender events when the human player is not Germany.

Now, now, not so gloomy. The fact that PI acknowledge a 1.4 is needed, that PI is in close contact with their customers about it, that they will keep their promise in releasing an expansion and that they ask us what should be in the expansion, gives me reason for optimism. I don't think Hoi3 needs to be a write off at all. If PI can bring it up to its full potential, Hoi3 may yet be a great game. Let's wait and see what PI comes up with.

Korean War
Post WW2 Chinese Civil War continuation
India - Pakistan fictional post ww2 war
Vietnam Conflict - French trying to reoccupy and control Vietnam

> Goals for AI / Player w/ reward (like EU3)
> Better Chinese Civil War - take some of the good from HOI 2
