Mumia, I'm still trying to figure out GIMP2, what plugins do you use for flags etc?

I'm slowly getting somewhere with it, but no where near as good as I was with Photo & Picture Editor. If only MS hadn't got rid of it..... Makes me want to cry

That's a good idea to write a guide for making flags & shields.. That would save you alot of work really..

I am Scottish, not Finnish.

Alas, I use GIMP which allows me to make shileds, counters and minister pics. I havent been able to figure out how to make the wavy flags using GIMP. I can't find any Photoshop actions that will 'easily' make the flag. Basically I would have to create each displased seperate flag image and place it just under the highlights layer and then repaet for the other 24 flag images, displacing the relevant section of the flag seperately for each one and hoping that it will 'flow smoothly' in animation.

In other words, I haven't been able to do it.

The flags are effectively the only thing I cannot make using GIMP.

Phew, thanks mumia! I tried to make the Finnish Royal flag myself, but the results were rather bad. I'd appreciate if you could post the instructions, since I'm also using photoshop(7.01).

I would like these 2 images combined, with the pointy thingy (klingon sign) on top of it, if possible. the circle beneathe the klingon emblem should be the exact size of the sun on the rising sun flag. it should also have roughly the same color, maybe? yeah that's be better.
the edgy things should also keep a thin white border around, in any case, so that it not combines with the rising sun flag, if possible. Also, i'd like to have it in simple black also.

I have 3 samples here, the normal rising sun and 2 variants of the klingon emblem.
Fell free to experiment, guys

And i only want it as shields, as i want to use it as an avatar in the future.

Oh, and this just reminds me... the same stuff but except the klingon emblem take the one of the terran empire?

oh and you actually left out a version of the Klingon symbol, the trifoil is different colours.
