HOI still tastefull after HOI2 ?

I'm thinking about getting HOI1 after beign addicted by HOI2DD but I'll like if it's a good deal. I know there are good mods on it like the one about WW1, but are the game mechanics polished like in the second ? is the AI a decent ? what changes sould I expect ?

Well a few things:
- Use IT to research tech
- Tech is individually researched
- Combat takes place after arrival
- More nuisance, less user-friendly features

Go with Core! I have toyed with HOI 2 for some time, but keep coming back to 1.

I totally agree check out the CORE mod and the ww1 mod TGW 1.1+mini-mod.

Yes ,it is like a fine wine laid to rest ,or memories of a simpler time in the old days with more sprites!

IMO HOI1 has its pluses over HOI2 convoys capabilites, supply distance modifiers or some of the tech capabilities. Hope HOI3 learns on those mistakes as I wrote in the other thread - sry to repeat.

lol...and i was annoyed at hoi2s slowness at first.... :rofl:

You can slow hoi1 down a lot though and put the pop ups to pause the game so you can deal with the issues one at a time.
Hoi2 is incredibly slow even more so when you have lots of sprites and gfx added, where as with Hoi1 no matter how much you add the game play is not slowed by extra sprites and gfx at all.
