HOI Platinum

I purchased HOI Platinum last weekend, and after instsalling it, it put two icons on my desktop: the icon for Hearts of Iron and the one for C.O.R.E. So far, i have only used the former. Am I missing out on the latest features?

CORE is, in my opinion, better. It has more events and is generally better. Its like VIP for Vicky. But I suggest you try it out. o Like soon. As in now. GO! WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE!?!?

CORE is a mod made by players which adds events, techs, and pretty changes your experience. It's very good, but i suggest you learn the game with vanilla (plain) HoI before trying any mods.

Is CORE automatically loaded when I click the HOI icon, or do I need to click on the CORE icon on my desktop?

You have to click on the CORE icon to load the CORE version.

Using the HOI icon starts the game with the default setup and four campaigns to pick from (1936, 1939, 1941 and 1944). Starting with the CORE icon starts the game with the C.O.R.E. setup and only one campaign (1936).
