How is it that Man the gun, while being announced during PDXCon is still waiting for a release date, while Stellaris is already releasing the next Expansion / Patch which had been only a Freak Idea of Wiz during PDXCon.

Has HoI lower priority for ressources?

Have you seen the expansion for HOI4?

You can not just add alot of resources to get something done in very short order, game development takes time.

Then let's give you insight to the Harsh Reality that the Game, and its Development Team, are a Failure.
Depend what you consider failure. The curve show that HOI4 is more stable but don't see any increase while Stellaris curve is much more volatile. In terms of sold copies Stellaris win and that can be considered as more successful. HOI4 is probably better at keeping its player base but worse at expanding it which means less sold copies.

However I don't see any difference in priority for Stellaris and HOI4 expansion. I think man the guns is probably a more major redesign than maybe anything Stellaris have gotten. Fuel and complete naval redesign is a major thing.

I already stated that they sold more copies in my first post, that is a fact.

Please. Read. Words.

Their significant, and now gradual, Player drop off is a sign of continued disinterest of that Title. There's always a spike after every PDX release, but Stellaris receives the most significant drop offs out of the other Titles. Almost as if that....."Minority" they speak of in that Toxic Forum doesnt like the direction Wiz took the game after Doomdark was removed from the Project at release.

HOI4, despite how much criticism we give them, still retain the most loyal player base, and growing. Seems like they're doing something Right.

Well I'd argue that LeGuin was also a Pretty intense rework of the game. I am not a Dev but from the outside, the planetary rework looks like a Major rework.
Concerning the Fanbase and toxic Forums, I have no idea what you are Talking About. Yes some fans were pissed that the FTL got a complete Change but the direction Wiz took the game? I love it and I don't think the majority thinks different. Those who don't have already left so... Who cares.
HoI is better at interesting streams thanks to Daniel but Stellaris seems to be more productive and trying to fulfill fan wishes than any other Game.

What's QA like for Stellaris? Are there many bugs in the game? Are there lots of bugs that have been in for months, if not since release? Do people get the feeling the devs don't care about bugs or major balance issues in Stellaris?

I've never played the game so I can't comment, but that is the distinct feeling I get about HoI IV, so I'll just assume it's a manpower / resources issue, and Stellaris must have advantages there.

The HOI4 announcement was made a lot earlier than normal because of the timing of PDXcon. They couldn't go the entire con and say nothing about HOI4 so the alternative was an early reveal.

Yes some fans were pissed that the FTL got a complete Change
They do not change FTL - they killed it and turned game into the historical France simulator - build a wall in Space. And railroads.
Even removed code from the game so moders can help. Warp and WH- they gone.

Maybe PDX and railroads fan happy about that but a lot of us believe that we was betrayed by them, just like Chech and Poland in HOI. And not some - we are many.


Are there many bugs in the game? Are there lots of bugs that have been in for months, if not since release?
Some of them yes. Usually minor but these they break immersion from the game and the same stuff.
Like hive mind drones refused to obey, robots cant heal their biothrophies from plague and some victims suffer forever if you move them on another planet and ect.
Sometimes even path being bugged more then previous versions. A lot of bugs for month or weeks.

HoIIV have more weekly players and everyone is waiting for new patch for Stellaris. Still HoIIV playerbase is bigger, mostly I suppose thanks to extensive modding capabilities and link to alternative history theme.
When you mod Stellaris you get another Stellaris.

Let's try and be realistic here. HOI4 really still needs major upgrades to battle planner which is a lot more complicated than just some new lore popups and ship art. It is probably the most ambitious AI system in any Paradox game to date.

For other games Paradox is actually going in the opposite direction with AI, for example Stellaris did a major update to limit the AI by removing any travel besides fixed lanes. Right now they are moving to simplify the resource system because among other issues the AI wasn't able to manage it well enough to avoid mass starvation. EU4 did a similar thing a while ago to make things easier on the AI by adding fort zone of control to slow things down and limit movement.
