I also have problems with two kinds of CTD:s.
One is when i try to access the multiplayer functions. This happens, lets say 1/5 of the times and causes a CTD when I select one of the multiplayer options (Internet, Valkyrienet).
The other occurs in the game, and quite rarely. Its when I have alot of units in a province near the enemy border. Ant the CTD occurs when I try to rearange the units (create new unit).

One thing to remember is that 90%+ of the beta testing is done on english language versions (certainly all the external betas use english). In EU 2 there were quite a few CTD introduced in the French, Italian and German versions through faulty translation or not realising that certain versions of windows can interpret "english" characters in strange ways.
I haven't seen the Russian version (it may be in english for all I know) but I would bet money on localisation of HoI and/or windows as being the main culprit

I could be wrong, after all I initially thought the US flag was backwards as most countries turn it clockwise when displying it vertically.
maybe they will correct it, and if they do not correct i already have the real flag to replace it
I have had one or two CTDs. I think thats just normal. But one thing is realy strange... when I quit the game I get a error message from DemoShield. its one of those classic windows errors... Don't know what they are called in english, and I'm too lazy to check it up.
Yeah I get that to. No idea of why though. Doesn´t seem to do any damage but it´s weird all the same.

I get CTD's when I get new or upgraded units that have to be placed in Berlin when playing Germany. I click on a unit click on Berlin on the map and POOFF...a CTD! Happens quite often, but I save often so it's just a bit frustrating. Great game!

Usual advice applies here. Go back to the autosave, repeat the action you think caused the CTD. If it happens again post the problem in the bug reporting forum and offer to send a save game to Paradox. They'll tell you who to send it to.
I could tell you Johan's e-mail address but he might object to loads of save games arriving in his mail box
Also this one may have been fixed in a recent beta patch - the description sounds familiar.
I'll try to replicate the CTD tonight. I'll then post it in the BUG report forum. Thanks for your insights.
I had one other CTD in ~4 hours of play, while clicking on a province to upgrade AA.
Athlon 1G T-Bird - Asus A7V Via KT133 - ATI AiW Radeon - SB LIVE! 5.0 Platium (I think this may be the weak link - its not stable with the Via chipset) - Win XP Pro
EU2 does that same immaculate CTD - I'm playing, and *poof* I'm at the desktop and the game is gone. Its very clean, I've never had any other game do that. Really weird, but strangely convenient, as it takes seconds to get back to where I was.
This game has autosave (a must in todays gaming realities). CTD is a nothing problem with this game (despite what the idiots at Gamesplotch think).
I had the tutorial CTD and none since then. OTOH I've only played 4-5 hours and it's been almost all research (as the US). I have yet to build a unit! Waiting for my nukes.
