Description
I'm not entirely sure how it happened, but voivodeship silesia ended up in game with no owner whatsoever. I have an attached screenshot and game save file (bug report). Another issue that happened later in this game is that Germany was allowed to take its align Romania focus despite us being at war, which you can see in the other game save file (bug report 2). Finally, the bug report application page says that this is the eu4 bug report forum and I have attached a picture.

Regarding Voivodeship Silesia... Is this from a pre-1.5.2 savegame that you continued later? I cannot think of any way it could possibly end up without a controller, unless you load a savegame that was made before that update.

Ah, that might be it, I have a tendency to play in short bursts over a long time. Probably I just didn't notice that the game had updated from when I started.

I don't suppose that there could be a decision or something to get rid of the "alignment" national spirits if you end up going to war with the country that gave it to you later, or if the country that influenced you capitulates to someone else? It's more annoying than a critical issue, but it is weird that you can end up joining the allies late into the game as romania or turkey and continue to be influenced germany/italy. (It was bothersome to have to deal with the stability penalty from being 100% fascist in one of my earlier unsuccessful attempts and death or dishonor or cake)

We are discussing potentially changing all ticking ideology support into temporary modifiers (lasting a number of years), but this is tentative for now, and no guarantees that this is the solution we will end up going with.
