Soviet Civil War randomly ends and I get a game over while playing Trotsky even though I’m winning the civil war (MacOS Mojave, Barbarossa v1.11.2.a194 (7844)

Description
I’ve tried this a few times since the new update dropped, and it always ends the same way. I start as the Soviets, proc the Civil War on Trotsky’s side, and within a month of the civil war starting, I get a random “game over” without an event or anything. I have no idea what’s possibly causing this: in none of the games I’ve played have I lost even a single province to Stalin’s forces, much less enough to capitulate me. I’ve tried it with different focuses being prioritized, along with having home bases in different states; no matter what, it ends the same way. I get a game over within a month and have no idea why.
Steps to Reproduce
1) Start as the Soviets.
2) Go down the civil war path as Trotsky. I’ve tried a few different combinations of focuses to start the war, including getting declared on by Stalin, starting the war myself, purging the right, not purging the right, etc.: it always goes the same way.
3) Have the game give a game-over screen within a month of the war starting.
