Description
I got a save game that worked 3 hours ago, but the game now shows that it's from a different version and can not be loaded. However I don't see that steam has done any updates and I can load any other saves preceding this one. Loading from the launcher makes me an observer with an option to take control of Germany instead of the Bolivar Empire. I see no button to take control of the bolivar empire.

The game is being played in vanilla with no mods attached to this playset. Has anyone else experienced anything similar and what did you do to fix it? I have saved and loaded this game countless times so far without any problems with the exact same setup.

I got about 30 hours in this particular save and things are going really wild now. I also got the Columbian capital ship achievement within reach, which is why I'd really like to uncorrupt that save.

Turns out there is a command line option -allowoldsaves, which does warn that the save is of an older version, but allows me to load it and I can select bolivar empire to play. The pre game screen shows the wrong date, difficulty level and claims that iron man is off and achievements are not available. However none of those are true, as I successfully managed to get the my ships don't lie achievement. Still don't know what caused the corruption. Perhaps the game size has got something to do here. Occasionally I have to wait 10 or more seconds for an hour to pass in 2x speed and the ui very clearly lags. No graphical lags though.
