Description
We Play in MP on Slow. Try to retreat Reserve Troops in a Fight. As a result, although they stand in 1-2 provinces distance, they continue to be seen as part of the battle so they do not dig in and reorganize.

Steps to Reproduce
1: attacker starts fighting (not necessary to do much damage, mainly a lot of organization to keep the battle open for a long time)

2: Defender tries to pull troops from the reserve into a neighboring province.

3: As long as the combat is open, the withdrawn units are useless as they continue to fight

Great clarification on Steps to Reproduce :

This bug dont only happend when a retreating unit moves from one combat directly into another province under attack and in combat right away again.

This Bug happend as long as the combat is open, no matter if there a combat or not in the province you flee in

The distance to battle does not matter. 1, 2 or 5 provinces, never mind !

There are big problems when there are a lot of units in the reserve with low Org. There is no way to get them out and place them in a 2nd Line. They dont digging in or reorganize.

In a MP you defence is ruined if the 1st Line retreat in your 2nd Line if the Enemy attack immediately.
it is impossible to build a 3rd line with the exhausted Units from the 1st line. Because they dont digging in or reorganize !
You can only hope that Units from the Combatwide retreat and form a new defence.
if not, you lost the whole war in days.

That end in a domino effect.

I apologize, I had not tested this myself but relied on a third party information which proved to be incorrect. Now I have tested, and yes, the only thing that seem to matter is if they are retreated from reserve or not.

I have deleted my post containing misinformation.

Unfortunatly, this happened to me aswell a couple of times in SP aswell as in MP. I could reproduce it in SP:
My example is Germany vs. France: Germany has tank-divisions ready to attack a line of French infantry while being covered by their own infantry.

Now German tank divisions start attacking the French and get deoprged after a while:

Germany stops the attack in order to build up organization for the next attack (or doesnt and continues the attack: it doesnt matter for the outcome). Meanwhile some French Infantry start attacking the province the German attack was coming from (i used force attack, this will be relevant later). The battle begins and its French infantry vs German Infantry. The tanks are in the reserve and Germany starts retreating those, to reorg behind the front.

Even tho the four German tanks retreated succesfully from the battle, they are still shown in the combat screen and do not regain organization or start entrenching.

Retreating them further doesnt change their status, neither does changing their army group/creating a new one.

Their status as "being trapped" in the batlle continues until the french attack stops. Unfortunatly tho, this battle can continue forever due to the French circeling divisions in and out of the battle or just using force attack. I hope this will be fixed in the new update MtG.

Thanks again for the pictures and explanations. Would be great if the bug could even be fixed in a hotfix before the new DLC.

This bug of the combat engine I find very disturbing for the MP of the game

Paradox please fix! MULTIPLE people have reported the same bug over the last two weeks. I've been eyeing this. Please someone who works in the forums or for paradox or whatever, let the staff know! This bug is truly bad and takes away from the very game itself.

I play a lot of HOI 4 MP. And this bug is the first one which has the potential to end ally my muliti player rounds. Since we see the bug we have a lot loud dispute in the game. If this attack only to use the bug? Or is this a normal attack to bind troops. On this Way the bug constantly undermining a long grown MP community.

Please fix this bug! At least please tell us that you understood the problem and working on it.

Any reaction from Paradox would be really nice. At least from my side the information would be enough * Yes we understood the problem, it is also a bug and we eliminate it *. The * stability 100 * information would be to write whether in 1.6 or even by Hofix ..

The current * no idea * situation is just a little annoying at the moment. Especially because the thread, minus the vacation time of Paradox, is open a little longer.
