Summary
I found game exploitation - saving manpower and equipment from encirclements
What platform do you play on?
Steam
Operating system
Windows 11
Game Version & Checksum
1.12.11
Enabled DLC
Together for Victory, Death or Dishonor, Waking the Tiger, Man The Guns, La Resistance
Do you have mods enabled?
No
Description
I found exploitation during one of my recent game tests. I placed a German division with 25 000 men deep into cold Siberia. I let it starve in the encirclement for one year. I could not take men back into the manpower pool by disbanding the division.
Instead, I tried to edit the template of the division and the soldiers immediately returned home in a second (back to the manpower pool).
I tried to simulate the same scenario, only this time with actual enemy divisions on all sides encircling the division. Surprisingly, it worked too.
However, I forgot to disband all air wings, so they gradually drained numbers from the manpower pool as more planes were produced (as seen in the pictures below).
Edit: This exploitation works for saving the equipment too.
Steps to Reproduce
1. Let your division gets encircled.
2. Edit its template to the smallest widths possible.
3. Observe how the manpower pool gets a higher number.
Are you playing on the save from the previous/older version of the game
