Description of issue
Completing Chinese focus tree would result in hyperinflation

Game Version
1.5

Enabled DLC
All of the above

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Description
There are 8 inflation-generating ideas but only 3 inflation-reducing ideas.
Since CHI starts with 1 level of inflation and the inflation-reducing Forced Loans decision can only be taken once, the net result is 1-1+8-3 = level 5 hyperinflation after everything is completed.

That may be historical, given what I know regarding the Chinese Nationalist economy. It was severely messed up, to the point where one of their chief revenue streams was legalized opium and the government actively promoted opium use in the population to keep that revenue up.

And if I sit there twiddling my thumbs, there's no inflation.

And if I sit there twiddling my thumbs, there's no inflation.

My reading about the inflation under the KMT suggests that if they'd not bothered fighting the war, they could have avoided inflation too, so this situation is entirely historical. They had very few good options.

Because the devs definitely would create an entire section of NF that only serves to screw you up with no redemption and no sane player would use?

Looking into this now, China is supposed to be in a tough spot but I'm fairly certain you are should be able to offset inflation via a decision.

China is supposed to be able to reduce it's inflation through the "Forced Loans" decision but that decision is not repeating as it should. It's been logged and will be fixed.
