Just wondering if any players here would care to chime in on whether in your opinion as a wargamer, if HOI2, now that HOI3 is out, plus many many other WWII games, such as War in the PAcific, and many others ---

well has HOI 2 withstood the test of time ( now that it is several years old ) :confused:as a replayable game, fun, entertaining, immersive, etc.??????
thanks for your feed-back?

Very Well

I was happy buying HoI2 Complete over HoI3, largely because I prefer to have a patched working version with all the expansions and an extensive community with mod support already behind it.

In general paradox games do too well at standing the test of time because they ensure a good deal of modding options are available, so as long as a game is able to develop a community, people can play customized mods that make up for any weaknesses of the original.

Then there is Arsenal of Democracy, which is the upcoming successor (final expansion?) to HoI2, created by HoI2 fans who got the sourcecode from paradox. It is scheduled to come out in Q1 2010, so at worst in two months. :)
