1. Navy, Navy, NAVY!! Max, there are so many weaknesses to the current naval part of the game that I think we can't really hope to have it sufficiently fixed before HOI2

2. I agree with the wish for a more interesting/complex economic model (I too love resource management).

3. Better beta-testing. I appreciate the patches, but it took a pretty long time to make HOI really playable from more than one or two places.

P. S. I think the improvements to the AI are coming along quite nicely, really.

It's been brought up before in other threads, but I'd like the ability to form units out of smaller units. Disbanding a division of obsolete tanks and incoporating them as support units in a few infantry divisions to improve their fighting capabilities would be great. Regrouping a few shattered divisions into new divisions and what have you. The current brigade system is alright, but I'd love something much more in-depth.

On a similar note, I'd like the ability for a corps to have one over-commander and several sub-commanders, instead of the current system where the commander of a 12-division Army is the only officer over the rank of Brigadier general.

And I wholeheartedly second the suggestion for added diplomatic options.

Nope.. I can agree on that (I don't belive in God either, about repetition and argument's).. just as that HoI2 will not be better either if people don't can say what they think about HoI... specially what they don't like.. asskissing don't make any improvment's to HoI2, ecceppt a bad taste in the mouth.

And EU2 will not be better then it is , even if I over and over again will write that that is the best PC strategy game ever made in my opinion.. and HoI is an WW2 beta version of it, but that don't make HoI to an "great" WW2 simulation..

nobody is asking for an asskissing here. you may have noticed numerous threads dealing critically with HoI...I dont see you actually adding to the topic.
Please stick to what 2Coats asked for in the first post!

Everything that the manual said the game would have, but didn't.

Plus other things, like
no CTD's if possible,
improved naval combat,
naval and especially AIR FORCE become critical in land battles. Im tired of not having to make a Luftwaffe and just conquering the world with my Wermacht.

1) I'd like to see the ability to delegate commands to ministers/generals. For example, have the computer AI manage convoys or even diplomacy, or order a general to "Take Rome with 15 divisions" and then let the computer go at it while you concentrate on other things. This would help people just learning the game, and also help eliminate the need for som much micromanagement (unless, of course, you're into that sorta thing...)

2) I'd also like the ability to expand a provinces resources. If for example you're mining coal from somewhere, you should be able to spend "x" number of months digging deeper, or wider, and increase that reasources intake.

3) Maybe selling tech would be cool.

4) Something should be included to reflect trade embargoes or political sanctions for the early part of the game.

Something else I was going to mention, but forgot. I'd like the option to sell war materiel to other nations. Prior to the war, the United States, the French, the British, and others made quite a bit of profit by selling equipment to other nations. Setting up exchanges of equipment for resources or land (as in the destroyers-for-bases agreement) would be nice.

well, Strategy First invested all your money into brand-new HoI manuals....:)

seriously, maybe you should find a new publisher. I'm not familiarized with International Bussiness, but these guys brought only trouble....see the COTN example

oh, on-topic: transforming HoI into a political as well as military game, as Victoria tries, for the first time I may add, using EU2 and HoI's best features....

A multi-level AI. With a superior AI (like the a PM or Premier or President) coordinating a group of AI entities (ministers ex.) Also, a certain number of AI dedicated to generals, and then the super AI ordering those gerenals to perform tasks. The human player should be able to do the same (ie delegate to AIs). The max number of AIs could be a setting, depending on your computing power. Also more diplomatic and coordination options. Ex. I as England asking the USA AI to do such and such.

More flexible exchange rates for critical resources... if I've got rubber to spare, and his tech means he spends 6 coal in his conversion, I want the option of offering rubber at 5:1 for his coal.

Controlled conversions of resorces... if there's a world shortage of rubber, I want to be able to buy cheap coal/oil... convert it to rubber with the superior technology I've invested so heavily in... then trade it back for a profit. :D

Smaller provinces... and lots more (triple?) of them... based on physical, not political, geography.

No nukes... or at least very few nukes that only have a political/dissent effect rather than 1 bomb turning 500+ square miles into glass.

Better Intelligence... including espionage.

Infrastructure being beneficial to the owner of the province instead of simply making you easier to invade... why bother building all those Autobahns if it just means the Soviets have nice wide highways to make their drive to Berlin faster? Something like...

(Infrastructure/100) = (percentage of resources that can pass thru province)

... which makes it important to build good roads/railways between ports, capitals and resorce areas.

Smaller air and land units... no more 100 plane squadrons, army size of brigade... alternative, build divisions from component brigades/battalions, allowing for trade-offs such as wether to keep building 2 armoured battalions or reduce it to one (eg German '44 reorg)

Troop cost/quality needs a MUCH steeper curve.

Manpower Pool Vs Industrial Capacity... sure you can build 300 Panzer Divisions... you just won't have any tanks to equip them because all your factories are empty and standing idle.:p

And I vote for hexes too

re: Divisions

Division have to be able to gain experience, regardless of leaders. Also, you should be able to train them at different levels; normal, experienced - and after the reach a certain experience they become veteran.

More diplomatic functions, like the obvious; Kick out of alliance!

War should not be as inevitable, peaceful solutions should always be possible.

Peace process needs to be enhanced; it would be simple if you allow the player to 'MAKE CLAIM' on a province.

Trading/economic system needs to be fixed.

The make claim idea is great and would rock if they added it to the already made HoI. Also the ability to free a country as a puppet would be great (then those extra tags would be used, ie; Syria, Egypt, Korea, etc).

Both of those should be added into this game, what we need is an expansion pack not a sequal.
