Proposed Tuesday game(7pm-11pm)....all discussion for this game to be put in this thread including next session etc. So far teams and rules are as follows:

Axis
Germany(must have): Mike
Italy(must have): Gezeder
Japan(must have):Munster
Romania
Hungary


Allies
UK(must have): Major Ball
USA(must have): Nolan
France: Albatross
Russia(must have): Omni
Canada:
Australia: Bumble bee

No human China

Wildcards
Turkey, Sweden and Spain(dont know how this will work till after the civil war)

HOUSE RULES Known bugs/exploits: You may not serial build Province upgrades, rockets,aa, IC etc as version 1.2 has not fixed this bug.
No use of 'ghost' units for capturing enemy provinces etc. No phoney wars (i.e. DOWing but not attacking). Annexation (or puppeting) must be done as soon as possible. Axis are not allowed to DOW nations under attack from the USSR.

Alliances:
Italy and Japan may join the Axis whenever they choose to. Only historical alliances for the "Big 6" (USA can only join Allies, Italy and Japan can only join Axis, USSR can not join Allies or Axis etc).

Any human minor country may join Aixs or Allies alliance at anytime they choose.

Political actions:

You may not influence or puppet a nation controlled by a human player without their agreement.

The UK may not DOW Japan (this leads to the USA being able to join, see below).

Axis nations may not DOW USSR puppets or other Commintern countries, they must DOW the USSR itself.

War in Europe starts with Danzig event however if German belligerence allows it Allies may DOW.

If Germany offers Russia full pact wether accepted or not Russia may not DOW on Germany till 1st January 1942.

If Germany does not offer full pact Russia may DOW anytime.

Italy may Join war anytime after Paris has fallen and may DOW any minor after Sept 1936.

Japan may enter Axis alliance at anytime but must DOW on the USA also.

With a human French player Allies may not take military control of Poland.

No one may interfere with the Spanish Civil war by DOW or Allying and Spain may not have DOW on them or brought into any alliance till after France has fallen(Vichy installed or fight on event).


Trade agreements:

Allies and the USSR aren't allowed to break any starting trade agreements with Axis humans unless at war with this nation or through events (US oil embargo).

No economic warfare....UK,USSR and USA may not trade for rares in the first month of the game.

They can however trade them away. No economic warfare(ie trading for all rares or oil when not needed)

USA joining the war:

The USA may not manually move the intervention slider. USA may not DOW on Japan before 1st January 1942 but may DOW on Germany if the Belligerence level of Germany allows it.


Nuclear weapons: No nukes before 1945

Loading between sessions: Feel free to load up your own nation (and any puppets you control) and ponder your strategic situation between sessions. It is however not allowed to open up other player's nations.

Please be prompt and in vnet at least 5 minutes before start of game as sessions will only be once a week and only for 4 hours. If you cannot commit please dont start as it affects a lot of people.

Mike and I have compiled a list of house rules...not too many but just based on our experience and taken from other groups. No good rushing in till we have debated teams and house rules. Should be more than enough time for Version 1.2 to come out.

I have a preference to play the UK so feel free to add your preferences and I will alter this post as we go.

Well...no 1.2 version on the site as at 1 minute ago -- looks as if our first Tuesday night will be on 3rd of May -- that will give us some time to check out the changelog and gameplay effects.

Yup no patch and I don't really want to wait around all night in case Johan does release it in a few hours, my partner is home tonight and I'd like to spend tonight with her. :)

Looks like we will have to wait. Well I think we kinda thought we would have to didn't we all? :cool:

Definitely starting in 2 weeks - BB got the first 1.2 download post in too - lots of changes - the Russian and US ones look superficial but they will have serious gameplay/resource effects in comparison to Ver 1.1 - and the ARM GPs in the desert can now outrun the INF --- thank goodness!!

Only weekends are really convenient for me these days mike. In the semester break though I may be able to get in more gametime.

Basically, friday nights from midnight on, or anytime Saturday and Sunday is about it for the moment.

Nolan...Coop countries will be good for players who cannot make it evey Tuesday. If you feel you cannot committ...better to Coop with someone. Tuesday game will for ceratin start next Tuesday so I will need everyone to confirm sides and wether the y are available to play before then....Start posting people and please tell me if any sides I currently have down are correct for you.

There is a bug which has been identified to do with manpower used in reinforcements...I suggest everyone makes this change to one of their files:

The fix: in the misc.txt file in the db folder you have to search for
# Reinforcement Manpower Cost Factor 0.8

change the 0.8 into 0.4 and save the file

Othersise its uses way to much manpower to replaces losses.

Step 1 Go into the HOI 2 Folder.
Step 2 Open db Folder
Step 3 Look for "misc" file and double click it
Step 4 Scroll down to this line "# Reinforcement Manpower Cost Factor"

Step 5 Change the .8 to .4(Just delete 8 type in 4 same location)
Step 6 Go to file menu top left
Step 7 Select save

We have 5 Allies and only 3 Axis, someone has to move to the Axis.

Whatabout if I played Nationalist Spain? on the condition I join Axis once the Civil War is over. Its easy to manage I play Rep. Spain till the CW then we rehost edit the player info in the save and reload me as Nat. Spain. Whaddayah think?

I've just been reading this thread initiated by Barkdreg:

He discovered the problem -- remommended the fix as major states -- but WiWi Walker has run a game test and has found that 0.8 needs to be replaced with 0.45 (not 0.4 as per Barkdregs original post)

Check it out -- but either way -- they all state that MP players MUST have to same data entry or the game could crash.
