If Ireland gets free it's actually in a pretty good position. Huge populatuon (pre-famine years we had 8m), really only one enemy to worry about, and fairly homogenous population.

I'm hoping so Yes, the population before 1845 was quite high. 8,000,000 would mean about 2,000,000 adult male workers wouldn't it? Or is it a different ratio?

I want to play as my constitutional republic gigantic HRE, but I don't know if I'll be able to import it from EU3. Has any beta tester tried importing saves from EU3? I've become really attached to my country.

I guess you'll have to wait for an importer. If your country was based on the historical borders of more countries at the start of V2, you could just mod a decision for say.. Hesse, which turns it into your EU3 nation and inherits all of Europe or something like that.

Probably Sweden or Belgium at first to really get to know things carefully and hopefully don't ruin everything like I did in the demo, then I'll probably play as the ottomans, trying to save their precious empire and rebuilding it to the great power it is supposed to be I'll probably going to get kicked in the arse so much by russia and revolters that it is going to be aching for the rest of Ramadan

Being an American I'm going right back to playing the good ol' USA. I finally got the hang of running a large nation. Had the demo not come out I'd probably start with Belgium or Japan.

UK - always fun having a big colonial empire in the start of the game
Sweden/Scandinavia - Sweden has good chances to become a great colonial empire, and with Finland, Norway and Denmark added they can be quite powerful
Belgium - always fun to scramble for Africa with tiny european countries
Netherlands - I'm gonna try to annex Belgium and then try to become the greatest empire the world has ever seen (bigger then the mighty british empire)
Ireland - it's fun to get the economy growing, and I'm gonna try to become a secondary power.

I'll try Wallachia and see if I can form Romania and make the empire in my EU3 AAR. Nah, it's probably impossible without getting pounded upon by Russia and the UK.

Ireland has revolted against the UK in my China game just now, has a population of 1.82million in 1872. Dosent say if thats the total population or just the working male one. (if it is just the working male population, x4 it to get the full population ive heard.)

Oh Probably Sardina Piedmont for my first game see how the whole unify thing works, then might have to try being the Transvaal and see if can force the british into a favourable peace in my version of the boer wars :rofl: gotta say i feel sorry for any US players after that demo, and now i have some money can buy the game right away

Argentina will be my first complete game (US was my first non-complete.. It would've been my only, but I couldn't just let the kitten die! )
Getting a good industry up and going, hopefully I'll be able to get Fascists in power (what can I say.. I want control, and I love that flag!) and at the least be a 2ndary power.. A great power is probaly outside my ability, especially for my first playthrough
