Well, I havent seen any suggestions about trying to do a Mod were this becomes some thing like an EU3 lol, it be so nice to be able to play from 1419 stright to 1836, id think it might be posible but I dont know im not a mod expert, but that here is just my idea for another mod, I mean we got all the events already and monarchs etc etc in EU2 :) we just have to copy accross some stuff, makes the process much esear.

HoI: hehehe the map is really good the the recources are plentyful in this game, much more realistic then in HoI, the same principal as above really, copy across, all unites are done any way, jsut have to addapt, if that works either one of those mod's would be great.

What do you guys think? :rolleyes:

I was actually thinking about this. I think it could work but I'd wait for a patch or two to see how the game goes. It would need some heavy modding though.

Well the economyisnt that bad, and it wouldnt be or should be that ahrd to make a few new buildings like Stables, take eventuly make certain things actiovated via an event or tech tree, like Artillery Factorie etc..

/db/economy/resource-prices.txt

or something similar. Hike up the initial values of agricultural goods - this may be a good balance anyway, but hey - and have a play with it.

I dont really see the diffrance in the time span, I mean we are ok playing 400 years :) in EU2 so once a time mod comes or has been made or then the moding could potecialy begin..

Also i think that with Victoria's system you can create a much deeper and much more better feeling of imersion into the game, seeing the Diplomatic system is far more advanced and gives better options that are true to some of the era's and the thing about alliances etc as well..

Only reall thing that I can see is that cultures in provinces would change greatly , but eventuly convert..

Ive wanted to do this as soon as I heard about Victoria and saw how detailed it was :)

Im going to have a bash at it as soon as Vicy is released in the UK. Hopefully a no time limit mod will be out by then. Should be easy to port the events over, though editing the pops for every province would be a marathon. Worth it though, dont you think?

Woo.... imagine establishing a stable Holy Roman Empire until World War Two?
Or if England managed to take over France and keep it? How would that effect development and culture shift? That would be great! So many possibilities....

Sorry, im just gonna go away and drool for a little bit...

He means (I think) that Victoria and EU2 both go by days instead of hours, like in HoI.

Well, there's also the issue that there is a LOT more going on in the Viccy world then there ever was in EU2, so there is more data to process and therefore the game is slower (unless you have some über-ninja computer, which I at least, don't :p ).

Yes, this is a factor. 1 min. = 2 years in EU2 was usually never the case.;)

I was determining if i should of abandoned my Roman Empire scenario for EU2 and contienue it in vicky......i decided against it because of the Exploration problems.

But as for a EU2 mod heres a compromise.....who said it had to start at 1419?...How bout 1680's or 1700....the exploration problems wouldn't be as much of a issue here.....including alot of the indian/native tribes would help. Also most of the coastal province are already revealed in these scenarios in EU2.

Also it wouldn't take a month to finish a game......I think the time progresses slower because of the huge processer power the game needs compared to EU2.....don't know that for a fact


Edit:the game would progress though the vicky timeframe as well 1700-1920? but this is just a suggestion

HoI: hehehe the map is really good the the recources are plentyful in this game, much more realistic then in HoI, the same principal as above really, copy across, all unites are done any way, jsut have to addapt, if that works either one of those mod's would be great.

Would it be possible to adapt the Victoria map, to a HoI mod. So you could play HoI with this great Vic map? And in that case should it be a HoI mod or a Victoria mod. My dream would be a Vic map but with the Hoi engine, because in my opinion the tech tree and the way that it functions, is much more fun. Though I must admit that the diplomacy is much more develped in Vic. Generally I still think that HoI is a better game, but I LOVE the more detailed Vic map.
