hmm... Ricky suddenly CTDs in 1884?

I've never had a crash before with Vicky, and Revolutions has been perfectly stable for me as well, up to just now. For some reason I consistently CTD early in 1884, and the game locks up when I try to load the January 1884 autosave.

Is there some event that happens about then that might be freaking out my comp..?

Run at very fast? I think running on very slow tends to help if events cause CTD...

I know it sounds silly, but I assure you I have got through CTDs in single player by running the game @ very fast.
However, these CTDs were generally due to playing an MP save file in single player.

No no, I didn't doubt your word, I just had to ponder out loud about that. I think it depends on what will cause the CTD. Running slow will give engine more time to do the stuff it needs to do and won't have events crashing the game as often. But I guess running on fast will make the engine skip something (no idea what, though) that could cause CTD. Still, pretty weird.

Still, if it crashes consistently on a given date, maybe the good folks at Paradox should be sent the save file. Even if it's for nothing else than reminding them this game exists.

What's funny is that, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I had this problem when I was playing the game years ago; and now I remember somebody had suggested to speed past the "crash point", and it worked ... It was probably you that suggested it! So thanks twice...
