I don't understand if they are worth to terraform. No additional districts, no production bonuses, what's the point?

Oh so yes. Limitless energy and food districts remove the most pressing bottlenecks for hiveminds. Always, as soon as possible, and mass produce.
They give a 10% bonus to job production, which is nice. But the main thing I've found the useful for is building more mining districts. Mining deposits seem really rare (maybe bad rng in my games), and getting hiveworlds online has allowed me to continue developing my economy without going to war.
