Hive Minds' only possible ascension path is Biological, which means the only way to get better leaders is to go Erudite+Talented etc. Unlike other Bio Ascension empires, however, everyone is either a Drone with Full Citizenship or a Livestock Slave, which means your dedicated leadership species is just one in a sea of available leader candidates. It's even worse if you Nerve Staple some integrated xenos (or make a subspecies from your main one) for minerals and have them appearing as candidates, I mean wtf guys go back to the mines please. So I'd like to see some possible differentiation so that I can have only one species in my Hive producing leaders.

The only issue I can see with this is that maybe Residence wouldn't fit flavor-wise... but Full Citizenship already doesn't either (I mean, "each and every individual"?). So I think we could get a text swap for both citizenships just like Traditions already have (if it's possible) or just make two citizenship clones for them and make them Hive-only. You don't even need to be very creative, something like

Hive Mind
-Species can produce Leaders
-Default for Hive Minds at game start
-At least one primary subspecies has to have it
"The Mind is greater than the sum of its parts."

Workforce
-10% Consumer Goods Cost
-Species can not produce Leaders
-Available the moment a second species/subspecies is added to the Hive
"Too much drone autonomy tires the Mind."

would be enough.

If this is unacceptable to the devs, at the very least stop Nerve Stapled species from producing Leaders, I'm tired of getting memed by them.

Remove the '-10 consumer goods', and you have a pretty good idea.

Eh not really. I don't want non-Hives with non-slave citizenship, what I want is a bit more differentiation between Hive pops so that Bio Ascension can be used t o its full extent.
You can genemod Hiveminded onto pops if you go full bio ascension.

If a Hive Mind can individually purge it's own pops, it can delegate eligible autonomous drones too! Nice idea, totally doable and necessary, thanks for sharing it!
Something for Wiz to look at when he comes back ;)

I hope this happens soon, as this is the only real gripe I have with Gestalt Consciousness right now. Despite having a leader/science specialized species, those are usually few in numbers so their chance to appear in the leader pool is equally low. I don't want my short lived and stupid (fleeting and slow learner) workers take up all the space in the recruitment offices god damnit:mad:

2.0 did help a little bit with the ability to hire leaders for energy instead of influence, so we can recruit and fire leaders in case we don't find any good ones, but that's not a proper solution, it's just a workaround.
